Youth Music is the UK’s largest young people’s music charity supporting more than 350 music-making projects and reaching 89,000 musicians aged 0-25 each year. Projects take place across a wide range of out-of-school settings such as youth clubs, arts venues, music studios, radio stations, prisons, nurseries and hospitals. The charity helps children and young people to develop personally and socially, as well as musically. Participants take the lead in choosing what and how they want to learn, making music of every style and genre. Sessions are delivered by expert music facilitators who often work freelance and combine this with other creative work. Youth Music’s work is funded by the National Lottery via Arts Council England.
