As a technical writer on the Documentation team, you will contribute to the Live 12 manual by updating existing text and screenshots, as well as documenting new features and workflows. You will also create release notes for new beta and public product releases.
In addition to updating documentation assets, you will also handle certain technical aspects of our workflows, such as publishing content, working with git repositories, and using a CMS and other tools like Crowdin.
You will work closely with other teams, including product development, Customer Support, and Release Management, to ensure that the information required for creating product documentation is up to date and technically correct.
This position is based in Germany. We offer the option to choose your own work model either working remotely or in our office in Berlin.
You will update the Live manual text and screenshots for existing and new features.
You will write release notes for features and bugfixes based on a summary of changes provided by developers.
You will work closely with Documentation Team members to ensure consistency with Ableton's documentation standards.
You will take part in regular team rituals, such as planning meetings and text reviews.
You have previous experience in technical writing or equivalent writing experience
You are proficient in English and can write at the C1 level or above.
You have basic knowledge of music production with DAWs (ideally Ableton Live), and the willingness to study it in more depth. You like exploring the product and playing with new features.
You can condense complex technical details into clear and easy to digest information.
You have a basic understanding of development workflows and are familiar with the corresponding tools like the command-line, git (ideally GitHub), Markdown, and optionally also Crowdin.
You have basic familiarity with agile practices (such as working in sprints, planning, reviews).
