Our events require thoughtful operations that balance high-energy crowds with safety, inclusivity, and hospitality.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Security to lead all venue security operations with professionalism, strong leadership, and cultural awareness.

 

 

Role Overview

The Head of Security serves as the primary authority on crowd safety, risk management, and incident response during events. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all security operations while ensuring enforcement enhances not detracts from the guest experience.

Success in this role requires strong operational judgment, confident decision-making under pressure, and the ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-energy environments.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Risk Management

  • Lead all front-of-house, perimeter, backstage, and internal security operations

  • Conduct real-time risk assessments related to crowd density, artist moments, and environmental factors

  • Serve as on-site incident lead during emergencies

  • Coordinate with medical staff, fire, and law enforcement when necessary

  • Ensure consistent enforcement of venue policies while prioritizing guest safety and dignity

  • Manage intoxication-related and sensitive guest situations with professionalism and discretion

Incident Response & De-escalation

  • De-escalate conflicts using calm, clear communication

  • Act as final decision-maker on removals, escalations, or emergency procedures

  • Maintain strong situational awareness throughout events

  • Protect artists, VIPs, staff, and guests in high-traffic or sensitive zones

Team Leadership & Staffing

  • Manage scheduling, post assignments, and live redeployment of:

    • In-house security staff

    • Third-party security agencies

  • Ensure proper coverage across all venue areas based on event size and risk profile

  • Lead pre-show briefings and maintain command-level communication throughout events

  • Train and mentor staff to uphold standards of professionalism, accountability, and guest respect

  • Serve as the central coordination point between venue leadership and agency leads

Post-Event Reporting & Operational Improvement

  • Document incidents and operational observations

  • Provide post-event summaries and recommendations

  • Assist in refining security protocols, staffing models, and training procedures

 

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in venue security, event security, or risk management

  • Proven leadership experience managing in-house and third-party security teams

  • Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent situational awareness and decision-making under pressure

  • Experience managing schedules and staffing logistics

  • Availability for nights, weekends, and late hours

  • Valid TABC certification

  • Security Guard Level II certification

Preferred

  • Experience in large music venues, festivals, or nightlife environments

  • CPR, First Aid, Narcan, EMT, or similar certifications (or willingness to obtain)

  • Experience serving as incident lead during live events

  • Background in operations or hospitality leadership

Salary Range

Full-time / Part-time potential hours 25-45 weekly $35 - $40 hourly
