Kobalt Music, the music company of the future, is looking for someone with strong administrative and operational experience to join an international team that manages the global song registration process on behalf of our clients. Your role would ensure our repertoire of songs in Australia and New Zealand are correctly registered, allowing royalties to flow to our clients as their songs are played live, on radio, or streamed online.
The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated and proactive with an interest in data, systems, and technology platforms. To be successful in the role, you also need excellent communication and great interpersonal skills, as well as a track record of working to tight deadlines, while remaining optimistic and persistent to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the music company of the future. We are a global music and technology company built for songwriters and publishers, with the technology infrastructure to enable better tracking and royalty collection for the billions of micro-payments per song in digital music today.
You’ll have developed a good understanding of Kobalt’s copyright systems, registration processes, and the wider responsibilities of the Copyright team. You’ll be supporting song and agreement registrations, learning APRA AMCOS processes, and building relationships with colleagues across Copyright and Writer & Publisher Relations.
You’ll be confidently managing core registration and catalogue administration tasks, communicating with societies and publishers, and identifying issues that may affect the accurate and timely collection of royalties. You’ll be able to progress routine queries and registration issues with increasing independence.
You’ll be a trusted member of the Copyright team, independently managing registration workflows across Australia and New Zealand and seeing issues through to resolution. You’ll maintain strong relationships with APRA AMCOS and other industry partners while contributing to accurate catalogue administration and timely royalty collection for our clients.
Maintains a high level of accuracy when working with song registrations, agreements, catalogue information, and numerical data.
Manages multiple tasks and deadlines effectively while ensuring important registration and client administration work is completed on time.
Remains positive and focused when following up on outstanding queries, adapting to different society processes and changing priorities.
We aim to complete the full interview process from initial application to offer within three working weeks. While we do our best to meet this timeline, there may be occasional delays. If that happens, our Recruitment Team will keep you updated every step of the way.
