Manager, Fan Engagement UM Latino

Job Description

We are UMG, the Universal Music Group. We are the world’s leading music company. In everything we do, we are committed to artistry, innovation and entrepreneurship. We own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries. We identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and we produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.

How We LEAD:

We are seeking a Fan Engagement Manager to help build, nurture, and activate artist fan communities across digital platforms, social channels, CRM, streaming, and direct-to-fan ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of music marketing, community building, data, content, and culture.

The ideal candidate understands how fans discover, share, and connect with music today. They will develop strategies that deepen artist-fan relationships, drive audience growth, support release campaigns, and turn casual listeners into active, loyal communities.

How You'll CREATE:

  • Develop and execute fan engagement strategies for artist campaigns, including album releases, singles, tours, anniversaries, and special projects.

  • Build and manage artist fan communities across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, WhatsApp, Reddit, X, Facebook Groups, email, SMS, and other emerging channels.

  • Work closely with marketing, digital, creative, commercial, A&R, publicity, and artist management teams to align fan engagement plans with wider campaign goals.

  • Identify fan segments, superfans, community leaders, and audience behaviors using platform insights, CRM data, streaming data, social listening, and campaign analytics.

  • Create and coordinate direct-to-fan activations, including exclusive content, listening parties, contests, fan challenges, pre-save campaigns, UGC moments, merch/ticket offers, and surprise-and-delight initiatives.

  • Support artists and managers with community messaging, fan communication calendars, and platform-specific best practices.

  • Collaborate with content and creative teams to develop assets that encourage participation, sharing, conversation, and repeat engagement.

  • Monitor fan sentiment, cultural trends, social conversations, and emerging platform behavior to inform campaign opportunities.

  • Track campaign performance and prepare reports with actionable insights, including engagement rates, community growth, conversion, retention, and fan sentiment.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of music fandom, youth culture, digital communities, creator ecosystems, and emerging fan platforms.

Bring Your VIBE:

  • 3–5 years of experience in music marketing, digital marketing, community management, social media, CRM, audience development, or fan engagement.

  • Strong understanding of record label campaign cycles, artist development, streaming platforms, social platforms, and direct-to-fan marketing.

  • Experience managing online communities or fan-facing campaigns for artists, entertainment brands, creators, or culture-led brands.

  • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into creative, actionable fan strategies.

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice across artists, genres, and fan communities.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple artist campaigns and deadlines at once.

  • Deep knowledge of social platforms, fan behavior, internet culture, and music trends.

  • Comfort working cross-functionally with internal teams, artist teams, managers, and external partners.

  • Passion for music and an instinct for what motivates fans to engage, share, buy, stream, attend, and advocate.
