A little bit about our team:

The Corporate Communications team works to protect and promote the value of WMG’s music, people, brands, and cultures. The team partners with internal clients and external stakeholders to tell the story of WMG’s broad range of talent both internally and externally. It has a dozen+ members across LA, New York, London, and Hong Kong. It is headed by our Chief Communications Officer, who reports directly to WMG’s CEO. 

Your role:

This is a rare opportunity to take up a groundbreaking role at one of the largest and most influential music companies across the globe. You’ll work closely with senior executives across various departments and Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets to support our LATAM operations across recorded music and publishing, as well as our independent distribution efforts. You’ll be tasked with crafting and accomplishing thoughtful communications campaigns for these departments and their projects.  

Here you’ll get to:

  • Be our global corporate communications team’s on-the-ground support in Miami, getting embedded with both the Latin label and our publishing company to help manage communications efforts working closely with the NY, LA and UK teams

  • Work with Indie and Latin music company leaders and deputies. Help tell the story of how WMG supports its creators, composers, collaborators, and people as a future-focused company.

  • Help establish media strategy and develop and maintain contacts from a range of new and existing outlets, including Spanish-language publications

  • Assist with the organization and execution of internal communications and in-house events involving artists, executives, guest speakers, and others

  • Coordinate unified crisis communication strategies across social, press, and internal channels, in partnership with the global team

We’re looking for: 

A proactive storyteller – actively mine and monitor internal happenings, artist achievements and wins, and regional trends across LATAM and the indie community. They craft compelling narratives that elevate the organization’s presence and align with its strategic goals.

A business-minded professional – manage high-visibility media engagements, including hosting journalists and providing strategic briefing and staffing for executive-level interviews

A Latin media expert – expand the company’s media footprint by cultivating a robust network of contacts in Miami and key LATAM markets and working with local leaders to strategically elevate stories

A hyper-organized communicator - lead on-the-ground communications logistics for internal and external events, including local All-Hands broadcasts and high-priority socials/content support

About You:

  • Possess written and verbal proficiency in Spanish and relationships with Spanish-language press

  • Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in communications

  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels, from corporate executives to creative employees

  • Self-starter who’s excited to help boost social media presence, lean into video and visual storytelling, and build outside of traditional trade and business media

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to keep projects on track with various stakeholders

  • Team player with a problem solving mentality and the ability to work collaboratively within a global team

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Experience at a Latin Music label or company

  • Experience in corporate communications at a publicly traded company

  • An interest or experience in the independent music space 

  • In addition to S-L, any knowledge of Portuguese and relationships with Portuguese-language press

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs.
