JOB SUMMARY
Aviva Studios is a multi-purpose, highly flexible venue with two main performance areas, The Warehouse and Hall, that can be reconfigured into various formats with a range of capacities up to 4,500 standing. Since opening in summer 2023, we have hosted touring artists, multi-stage festivals, live-streamed concert series, corporate showcases, one-off special performances, and in-house produced concerts.
The Production Manager (Music) will take the lead on liaising with promoter representatives and artist teams to advance shows, while also working with the in-house technical team to ensure all productions are delivered to the highest standard. We are looking for an experienced, organised, solutions orientated, and client focused person with good commercial instincts and an interest in working in a unique environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaising with promoter’s representatives and artist teams to fully advance shows and events, collating all relevant information and documents such as production schedules, riders, stage plans, rigging plots, and staffing requirements and distributing this information to the in-house Technical Team and Event Managers.
- Work with internal Factory International departments, external suppliers, and clients to ensure consistent and high-quality levels of service to all incoming artists and event organisers and to develop and foster relationships to ensure repeat business.
- Work with the Music Department and other stakeholders to develop new set ups, layout and special one-off projects.
- Work closely with Event Managers to ensure successful delivery of each event, communicating costs, schedule and staffing updates accurately and on time.
- To be the venue representative on production rehearsals, load-ins, and show days, leading teams and overseeing production related work taking place. (Due to the nature of the events that we deliver, early morning, late night, and weekend working will be required.)
- Examine the booking diary with the Music and Scheduling Teams to ensure that proposed events work within the schedule of operation of the wider organization. Contribute to the planning and delivery of venue format changes.
- Effectively forecast and monitor event budgets, ensuring that events are delivered to requirements, within the allocated budget, identifying opportunities to maximise profit whilst remaining competitive and maintaining quality where applicable.
- Establishing a good working relationship with the key departments within Factory International.
- Attend site visits and production meetings as required. To work with the Music and Commercial Events Teams to help showcase the venue to new promoters and prospective clients.
- Ensuring that all production elements are delivered to the highest Health and Safety standards and within all current legislation. Creating risk assessments, method statements, and floor plans as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
- Extensive experience of live music production management in a music venue, festival or touring environment.
- Strong working knowledge of technical production (e.g. lighting, sound, video, rigging, staging, etc).
- Strong organisational and planning skills with proven experience of communicating technical requirements to production colleagues and other non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience developing and working to budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including music promoters).
- Experience of working with and leading teams, remaining calm under pressure.
- Practical knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, guidance and implementation.
- Excellent software literacy and fluency with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Monday.com etc.
- Experience working with CAD software like AutoCAD, Vectorworks, etc, including reading and adjusting plans.
- Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Willing to undertake relevant statutory checks e.g. DBS (Factory International can support with processing and payment)
DESIRABLE
- A demonstrable passion for live music.
- Experience of working within a commercial events setting.
- 3 day rigging for the events industry qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Advanced CAD experience with the ability to create plans.
- IPAF, PASMA, telehandler and forks accreditation, etc
- Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
