Music Venue Trust is a UK Registered Charity which acts to protect, secure and improve the UK's Grassroots Music Venue (GMV) circuit for the benefit of venues, communities and artists. We provide advice to the government, the cultural sector and the music industry on issues impacting on the network of venues and are the nominated representative that speaks on behalf of the Music Venues Alliance, an association of over 800 GMVs from across the UK.


MVT is in a phase of critical action, from crisis response towards sector revival. We are expanding our frontline Venue Support Team to meet sector demand, and developing and delivering programmes of intervention and support designed to permanently reduce costs and improve long-term sustainability.

MVT England Coordinator (Full Time)
● £32,000
● Work from home or hybrid working, depending on location*

*Working hours are 10.00 - 18.00 Monday - Friday. Depending upon location, the MVT England Coordinator can work remotely but would be expected to travel to attend meetings and events and to join other team members on occasion. We hold 4 in person team meetings per year plus the whole team is involved in delivering our annual Venues Day in London. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered for work outside of your home town/city.

London-based Coordinators are encouraged to work from the charity’s office in Central London (Shoreditch) alongside the rest of the office-based team.

Role
Working within the Venue Support team (National Coordinators and Venue Support Manager) alongside the CEO and wider team to deliver the charity’s mission to protect, secure and improve GMVs through day-to-day contact and support to the Music Venue Alliance venue operators. This full-time permanent post will deliver specific support,
development opportunities and events which are relevant to the needs of grassroots music venues in England, and inform a national picture that is inclusive of the agenda in every country and region of the UK.

The England Coordinator will be joining an established team of two other England Coordinators to:-

● Be the first point of contact for English MVA member venues accessing support and resources from Music Venue Trust.
● Coordinate MVA members through MVT’s frontline support (the Emergency Response Service). Agreeing a tailored approach to the individual needs of a member with the Venue Support Manager and delivering that plan; calling in bespoke professional guidance where necessary from MVT’s guru team.
● Identify emerging and key trends across the membership and work with the Venue Support Team and wider MVT team to collect and present data which furthers MVT’s advocacy work and services.
● Represent MVT at relevant networking meetings and events, in occasional press & media and at Local Council meetings.
● Work with the Venue Support Manager and wider MVT team on delivering opportunities for the membership, including training, workshops and live events.
● Input into content for national networking event Venues Day (in London) to ensure that the geographic spread of the English membership is represented on the UK stage.
● Identify regional opportunities specific to England in relation to areas such as Local Authority consultations, regional music boards and culture steering groups.

Requirements
● An understanding of the vital role that Grassroots Music Venues play as cultural, social and economic hubs within their communities and their contribution to the UK music industry.
● Experience of working in a GMV.
● Strong networking and communication skills, confident in representing MVT at meetings, events and in media.
● Willingness to travel.
● Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with music venues, industry professionals, and government bodies.
● Knowledge of the English music industry – Understanding of the specific challenges and opportunities within England’s live music sector.
● Policy & Regulatory Awareness – Familiarity with planning, licensing, funding, and other regulations affecting music venues.
