The Concourse Project is one of Austin’s premier electronic music venues, internationally recognized for hosting world-class artists, large-scale productions, and immersive guest experiences. Our events require precise technical execution, strong interdepartmental coordination, and a deep understanding of live electronic music environments.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to oversee all technical and production elements of shows from advance to load-out.

 

Role Overview

The Production Manager serves as the primary authority on all technical production matters, ensuring seamless execution of lighting, audio, staging, video, and artist technical requirements. This is a senior leadership role responsible for advancing shows, managing crews, coordinating vendors, and delivering high-level production standards that meet or exceed artist expectations.

Success in this role requires technical expertise, logistical precision, strong communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve quickly in high-pressure live event settings.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Show Advancing & Technical Coordination

  • Advance all shows with tour production teams, promoters, and artist representatives

  • Review and interpret technical riders, stage plots, and input lists

  • Confirm staffing, gear requirements, power needs, and production timelines

  • Ensure venue production capabilities align with artist expectations

On-Site Event Execution

  • Oversee load-in, soundcheck, show execution, and load-out

  • Serve as primary point of contact for touring production managers and FOH engineers

  • Supervise audio, lighting, video, and stage crews

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and venue policies

  • Troubleshoot technical issues in real time

Crew & Vendor Management

  • Manage in-house production staff and freelance technicians

  • Coordinate third-party vendors (lighting, video walls, staging, rigging, etc.)

  • Schedule crew based on event scale and technical complexity

  • Maintain professional standards and accountability across production teams

Equipment & Facility Oversight

  • Maintain inventory of venue production equipment

  • Oversee maintenance and repair schedules

  • Recommend equipment upgrades and capital improvements

  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and care of technical assets

Budgeting & Financial Oversight

  • Build and manage production budgets per event

  • Approve labor hours and vendor invoices

  • Identify efficiencies while maintaining high production quality

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with Office, Venue Operations, Security, and Bar teams to ensure cohesive show flow, planning, and post-show settlement

  • Coordinate artist ingress/egress and backstage needs

  • Support artist, venue, and show special activations

Post-Event Reporting & Improvement

  • Document production notes and operational learnings

  • Provide feedback on rider adjustments and technical improvements

  • Contribute to long-term production planning and scalability

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Ideally over 10+ years of live event production experience

  • Experience advancing shows with touring artists and promoters

  • Strong knowledge of professional audio, lighting, and stage production systems

  • Proven experience managing crews in high-capacity venues or festivals

  • Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills under pressure

  • Ability to read and interpret technical riders and stage plots

  • Availability for nights, weekends, and late hours

Preferred

  • Experience in large electronic music venues or festivals

  • Knowledge of high-powered sound systems and immersive lighting design

  • Familiarity with video wall integration and complex stage builds

  • OSHA safety training or rigging certifications

  • Background in large-scale touring environments
