ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
All My Friends is a F&B concept, in the cultural heart of East London, Hackney Wick. Brought to you by the team behind The Cause & Costa Del Tottenham, music, events & street food operators since 2018.
With the evolution and expansion of the group, we’re incredibly excited to have this exciting new venue in our portfolio. The venue provides a hang out for friends and friends of friends that The Cause has met along the way. The venue features a record shop, Custom built Hi-Fi sound-system, local craft beers, food from HON’s BBQ and PLUR, seasonal cocktails & more. A refined offering with a relaxed atmosphere, soundtracked by some of the world's top selectors.
We are looking for a vastly experienced & multi-talented, Assistant General Manager to develop a team and assist the running of this project into a financially & culturally successful weekly operation.
THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager & Operations Manager in developing and delivering short, medium and long term strategies to mitigate challenges and ensure the full commercial potential of the business. You will lead the business’ bar team and be the line manager for the Duty Managers and wider bar and floor staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the management of all aspects of the bar operations for both front and back of house.
Manage the efficient flow of service across the floor & bars whilst on duty
Ensure the bar & floor team maintains high standards at all times.
Ensure the bar team are effectively resourcing the bar adequately to meet business demands whilst achieving financial goals.
Managing the restaurant floor, assisting the Operations Manager with all incoming bookings and customer enquiries.
Working alongside two external food traders, oversee the food safety, health and safety standards and meet requirements at all times.
Oversee the management of stock and the supplies to ensure they are maintained to an agreed level, waste is minimised and stock costs are within target percentages of turnover.
Produce, reconcile and take control of all daily & weekly reporting duties
Be responsible for all paperwork and administrative duties produced by the bar and floor team; including staff scheduling, reconciling invoices, stock control and HR requirements.
Assist all staff training with the support of the bar management team and HR.
Nurture, train and develop all new and existing staff, championing to promote from within
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Must Have
Significant breadth and depth of management experience at a senior manager level, ideally across a range of high quality, high-volume F&B and late night venues.
Experience in running a restaurant floor and dealing with food service in a Restaurant or Street Food environment
Possess commercial instincts and financial management skills to be delivered against key performance indicators.
A leadership style that is engaging, confident and proactive in a fast-paced environment that's unpredictable and constantly changing.
Bring fresh ideas and provide a wider industry perspective to the business, whilst working proactively, and with integrity at all times.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of alcohol service and food safety legislation; as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Able to work weekends, public holidays and late night hours.
Experience in incident response; EHO, managing police, licensing enforcement, council visits; as well as adapting to legislative changes.
Experience in restaurant booking software such as Resy, Open Table, Designmynight & Res Diary
SALARY
£15-£16.50 P/H DOE - 40 hour minimum contract

The Cause is a music and events concept launched in July 2020 operating from several venues, most notably Costa Del Tottenham & The Cause, an award winning, fully independent arts & events organisation that began life as an electronic music nightclub with a heavy focus on underground scenes, community and charitable causes.
Whilst maintaining the ethos of The Cause and providing a platform for electronic artists to continue playing through the pandemic, through ventures such as Costa Del Tottenham, provided a wider portfolio of entertainment, varying from food, comedy, cabaret, live music and DJ events.
