Cactus & Camel is a digital magazine built around the world of electronic music. Think of us as the Hypebeast of electronic music: a modern media ecosystem sitting at the intersection of music, artists, fashion and lifestyle - blending curation, culture and real-world experiences, not just content.
Our editorial focus sits across Afro House, Melodic House & Techno, Tech House, Minimal House & Tech, and Indie Dance. We are not a generic music blog. We exist to document and amplify what is happening in the scene right now: the artists, the events, the trends.
This is the role that owns our output. You run the page day to day - sourcing the content, building the posts, securing the collabs, publishing on schedule, and shaping what we do next. You'll work directly with the founders, with artists, event organizers, labels, promoters and partner pages.
It is a facilitator-and-curator role more than a creator role. You are not filming or producing from scratch. You are finding the best content that already exists, filtering it ruthlessly to our taste, and bringing it out in a format that feels unmistakably Cactus & Camel.
Content sourcing & outreach
Daily scene research: DJ, label, venue, promoter and competitor pages - what's happening, what's trending, what the scene is talking about
Identifying videographers and creators at events and reaching out to secure original, high-quality footage (reels and carousels, UGC and multicam)
Working the 24-hour window on major events (Keinemusik, Black Coffee, festival weekends) where speed decides whether we get the moment or miss it
Managing incoming content into our Dropbox bank and keeping Notion trackers current
Content creation
Building carousels in Canva: cover slides, hook selection, video trimming, artist/location/energy sequencing, accurate track IDs
Cutting reels for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
Writing creative headlines and captions in our format
Publishing & partnerships
Choosing and pitching collab pages by genre relevance, lining up backups, coordinating simultaneous acceptance so nothing sits live waiting
Coordinating collab posts with artists ahead of time
Publishing to schedule (posting windows are in Eastern Time 9AM - 3PM EST), tagging, Stories reposts
Recurring formats
Top 5 Releases of the Week - tracking upcoming releases, selection, post build, Stories, Spotify playlist upkeep
Release of the Month - community poll, partner collaboration, final build
Radar - editorial selection of releases we want to support
Special posts - spotting what's moving in the scene and finding the angle to tell that story in our voice, through whichever editorial format fits it best
Strategy & communication
Owning the content calendar and adapting it to what's actually happening in the scene
Client and partner communication, and bringing ideas on scheduling and direction
Watching what performs, why it performs, and feeding that back into what we make

You live in this music. You can name who's playing where this weekend, which IDs people are hunting, and which label just signed what. This is not learnable from a brief.
2+ years running social for a music, events, nightlife or culture brand = or a page of your own with real traction. Show us what you've built.
Proven Instagram-first execution: carousels, reels, collabs, Stories. TikTok and YouTube Shorts experience is a strong plus.
Comfortable in Canva and fast at cutting and trimming video for short-form.
Genuinely good at outreach. A large part of this job is DMing strangers and getting a yes. You're persistent, polite and hard to ignore.
Detail-obsessed. Track names spelled exactly as on Spotify, correct labels, correct tags, right slide order. Precision here is not admin - it's credibility with artists.
Self-driven. Nobody will chase you. You see, think and act, and you communicate early when something's at risk.
Taste you can defend. You should never submit content you wouldn't personally stop scrolling for.
Nice to have: existing relationships with videographers, promoters or artist teams; experience with paid partnerships or client deliverables; a second language.
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Canva, Dropbox, Notion, WhatsApp, Spotify, Soundcloud.
Hours: Full-time. Output and deadlines matter more than hours logged, but the posting schedule is fixed and our core coordination window is 9AM–3PM EST.
