Freelance Social Content Creator / Video Editor — Electronic Music Artist

Laserface is an independent UK electronic music project sitting between melodic electronic music, UK garage and late-night electronica.

Following the release of debut album Where Light Begins and a growing catalogue of tracks, we're looking for a freelance Social Content Creator / Video Editor to take ownership of short-form content around upcoming releases.

This isn't a traditional social media management role. We're looking for someone who can hear a track, understand its emotional world and turn it into simple, distinctive short-form creative that makes people stop scrolling and listen.

What you'll do

• Develop short-form creative concepts around new music and releases
• Source suitable footage and occasionally shoot original content where appropriate
• Edit content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
• Experiment with different hooks, edits, typography and visual treatments
• Turn one strong concept into multiple useful creative variations
• Schedule approved content
• Review performance and use what's working to inform the next batch
• Help develop a consistent visual identity

What we're looking for

You should have:

• A strong portfolio of short-form video/content
• Excellent editing skills and visual judgement
• A good understanding of what works on Reels and TikTok without making everything feel like generic TikTok content
• An instinct for pairing music with imagery
• The ability to take a loose creative brief and work autonomously
• An interest in electronic music, club culture or emerging artists
• An understanding of the difference between something that looks beautiful and something that actually stops the scroll

Music-industry experience is useful, but taste, ideas and execution matter more.

The visual world of Laserface is cinematic: City at night, movement, relationships, isolation, euphoria, melancholy and human moments.

We want someone who can take that starting point and come back with ideas we haven't thought of.

How we'd work

Initially we'd like to start with a paid two-day trial, working on a single release.

Typically:

Day 1: creative development, footage sourcing / production and asset planning
Day 2: editing, variations and delivery

If it's a good fit, we'd expect the role to continue at around 3–4 freelance days per month, with scope to grow alongside the project.

Shortlisted applicants will be sent a Laserface track and asked to suggest three short-form creative concepts for it.

We won't ask candidates to produce unpaid edits or speculative finished work.
