About RA
Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 7 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 20 years.
Purpose of the role
RA's platform is the product people experience: the RA Guide apps, ra.co, the tools promoters use to run their businesses, and the support that sits behind all of it, serving fans and promoters across more than 50 countries.
The Chief Platform Officer owns how that platform develops: what gets built, why, in what order, and the standard it needs to meet.
This is a product role rather than an engineering one. Engineering delivery, infrastructure, DevOps and technical architecture sit with the Chief Technical Officer. The Chief Platform Officer sets product direction and the standard; the Chief Technical Officer owns how it gets built and run. The two roles must work as a close partnership, and we will be looking for evidence that you can do that well.
We want an AI-native product leader: someone who treats AI as a fundamental change in how products get designed, built, tested, supported and operated, rather than as a feature category. RA is a small company, with just over 100 full-time staff and a large global surface area. The opportunity is to create real leverage through better products, sharper automation and modern ways of working.
You will own Product, Product Design, Data & Analytics, Platform Support and RA's AI operating model. The goal is a better product for the people who use RA and a better organisation for the people who work inside it. This is not an AI research role: success is measured in better products and a more capable company, not in novelty.
