About The Venue
The Greyhound is an inclusive, socially conscious neighbourhood pub, kitchen and live events venue from the team behind The Cause. We're a home for London's underground scene, hosting everything from live music and DJ nights to comedy, quizzes, cultural events and private hires.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Pizza Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, care about great hospitality, and want to be part of a venue that's driven by community, creativity and memorable experiences. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and maintaining a well-organised kitchen environment.
Duties
- Lead and manage the kitchen independently.
- Plan and design innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality standards for taste and presentation.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked with essential ingredients.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and best practices.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Manage kitchen budgets effectively while minimising waste and maximising efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a senior Pizza Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant environment.
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation and meal presentation.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- A creative mindset with the ability to develop unique recipes and menus that delight guests.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead a diverse team and interact with customers.
- A passion for cooking and helping others develop their culinary skills is essential.

Salary Range
The Cause is a music and events concept launched in July 2020 operating from several venues, most notably Costa Del Tottenham & The Cause, an award winning, fully independent arts & events organisation that began life as an electronic music nightclub with a heavy focus on underground scenes, community and charitable causes.
Whilst maintaining the ethos of The Cause and providing a platform for electronic artists to continue playing through the pandemic, through ventures such as Costa Del Tottenham, provided a wider portfolio of entertainment, varying from food, comedy, cabaret, live music and DJ events. Furthermore, our open-door policy welcomes everyone equally, regardless of musical tastes, gender, race, class, age, sexual persuasion or kinks.
In its short lifespan The Cause and associated events have raised over £100K for charities, played host to hundreds of promoters, thousands of DJs and been featured on prime-time ITV News, Channel 4, BBC Radio 6, The Guardian, Independent, NME, DJ mag, Mixmag and Time Out.
