Music Copywriter & Email / SMS Marketing Specialist (Freelance)

THE ROLE

NYX Agency is seeking a talented Freelance Music Copywriter & Email/SMS Marketing Specialist to join our growing roster of creative talent. You'll craft compelling copy across email campaigns, SMS marketing, press releases, bios, and social content for a diverse roster of music and entertainment clients. This is a project-based freelance role with scope to grow into a long-term partnership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write, edit and proofread email marketing campaigns from brief to deployment, including subject lines, headers, body copy and CTAs.
• Develop SMS marketing sequences that drive engagement, ticket sales, streaming numbers and merchandise revenue.
• Create artist bios, press releases, pitch decks, and campaign copy in the client's authentic voice.
• Collaborate with the design and digital team to ensure copy complements creative assets.
• Write social media captions and ad copy optimised for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X.
• Support campaign strategy by contributing creative copy concepts during briefing sessions.
• Ensure all copy aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and campaign objectives.
• Deliver work to agreed deadlines across multiple concurrent client campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven copywriting experience, ideally within music, entertainment, or a creative industry.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating email marketing, SMS campaigns, and long/short-form music copy.
• Deep understanding of music culture, genres, and the digital music landscape.
• Experience with email platforms such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot or similar.
• Familiarity with SMS marketing tools and best practices (character limits, opt-in/out compliance, etc.).
• Excellent command of English — able to adapt tone and voice across very different artist personas.
• Self-directed, reliable and professional when managing multiple briefs independently.
• Knowledge of streaming platforms, DSP marketing, and the music release ecosystem is a strong advantage.
