Are you highly organised, detail-obsessed, and passionate about music? Universal Music Publishing Group is seeking a motivated Licensing and Sync Assistant to support our Licensing team in managing music usage requests, client relationships, and synchronisation opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across music licensing, copyright administration, and creative pitching within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About the role:

  • Support day-to-day licensing activity across TV, stage, online, education, and not-for-profit sectors, including enquiries, quotations, clearances, and agreement administration 
  • Manage licensing administration tasks including invoice tracking, reporting, and liaison with finance teams 
  • Monitor and respond to licensing and copyright enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication 
  • Maintain licensing records, filing systems, and archive processes 
  • Assist with APRA reporting and general licensing compliance tasks 
  • Support creative pitching through playlist creation, catalogue management, and music file coordination 
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support new business opportunities 
  • Attend client meetings, presentations, and industry events as required 
  • Provide general administrative and creative support across the Licensing team

You are organised, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in your attention to detail and enjoy balancing administrative and creative responsibilities. 

You will bring: 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines 
  • Excellent communication and client service skills 
  • A passion for music with broad knowledge of artists, songwriters, and the industry 
  • Strong administrative and systems skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new platforms 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team 
  • An understanding of the music industry and rights landscape (preferred but not a deal breaker)
