Bravado is the worlds largest music merch company The Finance department is the key central department that ensure the company can continue to operate Our Finance Team is responsible for managing the company’s financial health and ensuring robust, accurate financial operations. They oversee everything from accounting and payments to royalties, reporting, and financial planning. The team works collaboratively to support the business with clear insights, reliable data, and efficient processes, enabling informed decision-making and helping drive overall business success. 

 

The Role  

The Tour & Royalty Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial aspects related to artist tours and royalty accounting. This includes producing accurate tour P&L statements, calculating UK withholding tax for foreign artists, and preparing royalty statements in line with contractual terms. The role requires extracting and analysing financial data to ensure accuracy, investigating discrepancies, and managing monthly accruals and true-ups. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Produce accurate tour P&L statements, demonstrating a solid understanding of debit and credit accounting. Contribute to the ongoing development and optimisation of tour accounting processes

  • Calculate the UK withholding tax position for foreign artists performing in the UK and prepare quarterly submissions to HMRC in accordance with FEU regulations

  • Extract and analyse financial data to determine sales, calculate income and costs, and review reports for accuracy and reasonableness, ensuring any discrepancies or anomalies are promptly investigated

  • Calculate and process monthly royalty accruals including true ups to actuals

  • Calculate and prepare royalty statements for Bravado acts in accordance with contractual terms 

  • Managing offshore team, ensuring their work is accurate and timely 

  • Produce retail royalty statements 

  • Resolve queries received from artists, agents and other rights holders 

  • Assisting with month end procedures and deadlines 

  • Assisting with bank payments review & sign off 

  • Maintaining label liaison’s Q of E reporting 

  • Maintaining advance study and ensuring accuracy 

  • Support audit process by coordinating with auditors and supplying all necessary documentation and explanations 

  • SOX control requirements 

  • IT literate and experience of different accounting software and packages. Navision and SAP would be an advantage. Excel is essential 

  • Coding and authorisation of advance payments in line with contractual terms 

  • Work with the legal team re contract interpretations, and contract improvements 

  • Correspond with artist management as and when required

  • Work with UMG labels to establish new reporting process (coming in 2026) 

  • Additional responsibilities as agreed with on ad-hoc basis  

Skills and Experience Required  

Must have 

  • Knowledge and experience of financial accounting, and royalties. Accounting knowledge is essential (needs to be well versed in the world of debits & credits) Must be able to prepare a basic P&L

  • Attention to detail is very important 

  • Experience of reading contracts in order to determine royalties, etc. 

  • Good excel skills 

Nice to have 

  • Knowledge and experience working with Navision & SAP 

  • Knowledge of Access databases 

  • Knowledge of Analysis For Office 

  • A desire to work towards a related qualification
