Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 7 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 20 years.
The Global Content Network (GCN) is a network of over 50 freelance City Managers across 6 continents, including hubs like Tokyo, São Paulo, Tbilisi, Toronto and Berlin. The GCN drives RA’s growth by adding events, enriching our content and strengthening local ties. Our City Managers are integral to amplifying local voices and ensuring our content authentically reflects each unique, vibrant scene.
Purpose of the role:
As the Regional Manager for EU South, South America & Oceania, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of cities and City Managers (typically up to 15 freelancers).
This is a management role with a strong delivery focus. You’ll use a city-first approach to set priorities by city, help City Managers reach their targets, and improve consistency across listings, editorial contribution, community engagement and commercial collaboration.
You will also contribute to network-wide improvements, and you’ll play a key role in keeping communication clear between City Managers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities:
Set clear priorities for each city, translate them into practical work, and follow through to ensure delivery.
Onboard, support and performance-manage City Managers across your regions, including regular meetings, feedback and clear expectations.
Lead City Manager hiring in new or vacant cities with support from the wider GCN team, including shaping the role, screening candidates, and running interviews. You will be responsible for training the City Manager after a candidate has been hired.
Contribute to projects that improve how the GCN operates across regions, including process improvements and tooling adoption.
Keep communication clear and timely across City Managers and internal partners (Editorial, Revenue, Product/Growth, Community and Operations).
Improve the breadth and quality of listings and city database upkeep, ensuring cities are well represented on RA.
Strengthen City Manager contributions, including local news pitching, Mix of the Day suggestions, Weekly Music Roundup inputs and RA Picks quality.
Coordinate with Partnerships Managers so City Manager involvement is clear, appropriate, and actioned smoothly. Help keep local context and priorities visible, support basic enablement where needed, and ensure handovers and follow-ups do not get lost.
Use city-level data to spot issues early, measure progress, and improve output over time.
Support regional initiatives and relevant RA events together with our Community Team when needed.
What we're looking for:
Embedded within at least one of the regions you will manage, with a strong network and strong judgement on local scenes.
Proven success in a managerial role.
Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
Comfort working with data and operational metrics.
Languages: English and Spanish required; Portuguese ideal.
What we offer you:
Generous annual leave policies aimed at promoting work-life balance.
Flexibility in working arrangements, offering hybrid or remote work options based on role requirements and location.
Matching pension schemes and/or 401k.
Comprehensive staff wellbeing initiatives, featuring regular activities and workplace programmes to support mental and physical health. This includes discounted Classpass memberships, and custom-fitted earplugs.
Company-led social events, team lunches, and discounts on RA merch.
Paid annual volunteering allowance, encouraging contributions to community projects and charities you care about.
Regular company-wide Q&A’s with senior leadership, along with ongoing virtual educational training sessions for all staff.
A transparent internal company culture committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (see: https://ra.co/about/diversity).
Active involvement in community projects within the electronic music community (see: https://ra.co/about/community).
