Doors Open Impact Report 2025

Welcome to our first ever impact report.

This document summarises the work we've done over the past five years to demystify the music industry and create pathways into what can often feel like an opaque and impenetrable workforce for those just beginning their careers.

We are a not-for-profit platform connecting people with jobs and opportunities in the music industry. As a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), we reinvest 100% of our profits into creating resources and initiatives that help people find their place in the music industry.

Not everyone has equitable access to the wide range of careers in music, so we are working towards a more level playing field by expanding access to opportunities and resources. Through our free to attend events, both online and in person, we are on a mission to create a fairer employment landscape for a more diverse workforce.

Our projects have taken us to London, Manchester, Berlin, and Amsterdam, and we've reached people from all around the world with our online workshops. We've published 33 Glossary pieces on key industry roles, helping our audience navigate the music industry ecosystem and see where they might find their place within it. And we've partnered with leading companies in electronic music to highlight hidden roles across music technology, DJ bookings, content creation, sound engineering, club operations, and more.

And we're just getting started. In the coming years, we will expand our projects even further; next month we'll take our UNLOCKED: Careers event to the US for the first time, but that's one for next year's impact report!

We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the employers who have used Doors Open so far; your support makes our work possible. And a massive thank you to everyone who has applied to or participated in our projects; you are the future of the music industry, and your feedback shapes everything we do.
