Founding Design Engineer (EXIST Startup)

We’re two master’s students in Design & Computation and Human Computer Interaction, currently building a new platform for modern music production workflow based on our master theses.

We’re now preparing our application for the EXIST Startup Grant and are looking for a Founding Design Engineer to join us at this early stage. We’d be happy to share more about the product and idea in person.

About the Grant

The EXIST grant provides funding for one year to develop and validate the venture before formally founding the company. Depending on your eligibility, each team member receives up to €2,500 per month during this period. More on the salary here.

Mandatory Requirements to be eligible for the EXIST grant

•  Completion of a university degree or vocational training (Ausbildung) within the last five years.

•  Residence permit and Registration in Germany or the ability to register in Germany.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong design intuition with technical and creative curiosity and has 

•  The ability to understand and communicate complex systems.

•  A talent for abstraction and designing intuitive experiences.

•  Experience with Figma.

•  Basic programming skills that allow to collaborate and communicate between design and engineering

Some context

We’re building a new kind of tool for modern music production workflows. Our goal is to structure the complex nature of creative processes without disrupting how musicians already work. The product goal is to assist every contributor in the music pipeline from production to distribution.

About Us

We’re currently based in Berlin and Munich. During the funded year we’re considering relocating to build the company together, although we haven’t decided where yet.
