THE ROLE
The Retail Experience Manager will lead the vision and execution of all in-venue merchandise experiences across F1’s ecosystem. This role is responsible for bringing the F1 brand to life in physical spaces, managing and creating elevated, retail experiences that connect with fans. Sitting at the intersection of merchandising, storytelling, and operations, this role will define how merchandise shows up in the real world, ensuring every touchpoint is on-brand, premium, and built to drive both emotional connection and revenue. The Retail Experience Manager will lead the vision and execution of all in-venue merchandise experiences across F1. This role reports to Senior Director Retail Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design differentiated retail experiences that scale across the ecosystem while honoring the distinct needs of youth athletes, families, and pro fans
Create retail moments that feel immersive and community-first—not just transactional
Partner with Events, Marketing, and the Director of Retail Operations to ensure a seamless, elevated experience at every touchpoint
Travel to key events to lead and refine on-site execution
Visual Merchandising & Brand Storytelling
Define and implement visual merchandising standards that reflect the F1 brand—sport, style, and community
Develop seasonal and event-based merchandising strategies tied to key moments in the F1 calendar
Partner with creative to develop signage, fixtures, and visual assets that elevate the in-person experience
Ensure consistency across all venues while allowing for localized nuance
Retail Operations & Performance
Own performance of in-venue retail, including sales, conversion, AOV, and product sell-through
Partner with Merchandising and Planning to deliver the right assortments for each event type
Manage inventory flow, replenishment, and on-site stock strategy to maximize sales opportunities
Build scalable playbooks for retail execution, staffing, and operations
Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency and elevate the customer experience
Recruit, train, and manage in-venue retail teams and external partners
Help develop training tools that ensure consistent brand execution and a best-in-class customer experience
Lead with a hospitality mindset, creating an inclusive, energetic environment that reflects the F1 community
Act as the on-the-ground leader during key events, setting the standard for execution and culture
Seamless, scalable retail execution across youth and pro environments
Manages on-site operations and production, including equipment vendors, entertainment, and safety contractors
Coordinates on setup, operational, and utility needs
Handles & Leads all F1 Hub -related inquiries from vendors, citizens, and visitors
Maintains accurate databases and documentation for all Events
Leads all sourcing of vendor selection processes
Leads the retail team in managing inventory of event storage facilities
Develops and maintains positive relationships with key city departments
Develops and maintains a strong volunteer base, especially corporate group volunteers
Effectively manages time and resources to meet multiple project deadlines
Ensures services are provided in a cost-effective and professional manner
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in an event retail related field.
8 years of retail event planning experience in a retail and festival environment or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage large-scale projects.
Strong financial and budgeting skills.
Strong negotiation and contracting skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with data entry and database management skills.
Knowledge of office and business procedures, city policies, and health regulations.
Ability to work irregular hours and schedules, including weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
