Job Title: Music Consultant, Japan Report To: Head of Sales, Japan Reporting to the Head of Sales, Japan, the Music Consultant Japan will manage and support the growth and development of Audio Network in Japan. This role is a key appointment for the business. It involves driving commercial activities and building Audio Network into market leading provider servicing the creative industries in the region. As the Music Consultant, Japan, your focus will be to develop new relationships and opportunities with television and production clients, expand existing relationships and develop Audio Network’s brand in Japan. You will also be tasked with driving deeper engagement with JASRAC, Japan’s performance royalty organization. You will work closely with colleagues in the London management team and your strategy will both be informed by and feed into Group Level goals. You will also be expected to manage day-to-day interaction with Audio Network’s high value clients and local stakeholders. This role will be based in Audio Network’s Tokyo office. Music Consultant, Japan – Responsibilities 1. Drive commercial licensing and client servicing with broadcasters, content producers and sound houses in Japan. 2. Deepen relationships with the existing clients (i.e. - sound houses, production houses and local stations) as well as developing new relationships with clients. 3. Collaborate with UK sales team on developing on clients and brand opportunities. 4. Attend and present at external customer meetings, events and functions, to aid business development. 5. Track, report and action strategy based upon customer requirements and sales revenues on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. 6. Develop deeper engagement and day-to-day interaction with JASRAC with a view to improving data metrics and performance royalties. 8. Utilize customer and prospect database to grow business; and update systems with information appropriate for future business growth. Music Consultant, Japan – Skills & Experience 1. Driven self-starter with the ability to manage own time effectively and proactively. 2. Fluent Japanese and intermediate English language skills are essential, and advanced or business standards are preferred. 3. Extensive relationships and excellent market knowledge of TV and production sector in Japan is desirable. 4. Minimum 5 years relevant experience in an account management / business development role in media, music. 5. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. 6. Passion for and/or background in music. 7. Creative approach to problem solving. 8. Understanding of music copyright and licensing is preferred. 9.
