Lotion Magazine is a Toronto-based independent media and events company focused on youth sub-culture, music, art, fashion, and emerging creative communities.

Founded in 2017, Lotion creates experiences and media that bring together different identities, subcultures, and creative scenes. Through live events, visual production, editorial content, and cultural programming, we document and contribute to the evolving landscape of contemporary youth culture.

Our work is rooted in collaboration and experimentation. We bring together artists, musicians, DJs, designers, photographers, filmmakers, and other creatives to build projects and experiences that connect communities and introduce audiences to new ideas, sounds, and perspectives.

Across our events and media platforms, Lotion aims to create spaces where different scenes and styles can intersect, develop, and form something new.

ABOUT THE ROLE Lotion is looking for an Editorial Content Creator to research, write, design and edit content for Lotion Magazine's Instagram and other social media platforms. You will create Instagram carousels, short-form videos, graphics and editorial posts covering underground music, artists, emerging scenes, internet culture and Lotion events. This role requires a strong existing knowledge of hyperpop, digicore, underground internet music communities, indie electronica / indie sleaze revival and US/UK UG scenes. You should already actively follow artists, collectives, labels, platforms and emerging trends within these communities. This is not a general journalism role . We are specifically looking for someone who already understands these subcultures and has experience creating content within them or closely related scenes and is able to produce engaging social media content.
