Young Urban Arts Foundation

We are an award-winning youth arts charity. For over 17 years we have brought free music and creative workshops into communities across London, meeting young people where they are, through our Studio Bus, a double-decker converted into a fully equipped multimedia studio, and through schools, youth clubs and community centres.

Young people learn music performance and production, build confidence and find their voice. We support their mental health and wellbeing throughout, and we open real doors, from the Studio Bus into paid work, into the industry, into careers of their own.

We are impact led. Every decision is measured against one question: does it make life better for the young person, including the decisions taken in spreadsheets and board papers far from the Bus. Last year 1200 young people came through YUAF. 89% told us their wellbeing improved, moved into paid work or further opportunity. Our work has been recognised with by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, for Working with Young People in London, and various industry awards including, DJ Mag, UK Youth and much more.

We create safe spaces where young people move past the barriers they face and grow into the creatives of the future.

Head of Operations This is the most senior operational role at YUAF, and it exists to do one thing above all: hold the organisation steady and grow its income, so our Chief Executive can focus on strategy, key donors and the funding pipeline. You will be the person the team comes to, the steady hand behind the scenes that lets the work with young people thrive. Fundraising sits at the heart of the role. You will build and hold a funder pipeline, develop relationships with trusts, foundations and corporate partners, and work with our contracted bid writer to win the grants that keep our work growing. Income is not a side task here. It is the reason the role exists. Alongside that, you will own the systems that hold YUAF together. Impact and reporting, so funders see the difference we make and young people's stories are told honestly. Governance and the board cycle, from risk registers to board papers.
