JOB DESCRIPTION Lobster Distribution is looking for an experienced professional Distribution Sales Manager to work across an extremely busy roster of record labels and retail outlets. The ideal person will be processing orders, managing UPS and DHL shipping accounts and packing a large volume of orders, as well as assisting with wider distribution tasks when required. Candidates will need to be extremely familiar with vinyl distribution, shipping logistics and both digital and physical retail sales. Familiarity with the marketing landscape and the components of successful global sales and marketing is also favorable. This role is also physically demanding and requires daily lifting and packing, so the successful candidate will need to be in good health and able to undertake manual labour when required. You will form a key part of the distribution team and work directly under the Distribution Manager and alongside the Production Manager and Record Shop Manager. NECESSARY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE At least 3 years of music industry experience relevant to the job role. Deep knowledge and understanding of the global vinyl distribution landscape and the electronic music industry. Proven track record delivering sales globally and working with a broad section of retail outlets both physical and digital. Strong analytical mind, the ability to work with numbers and data and translate this strategically to improve results. Recognition of the drivers to deliver successful global sales campaigns for record labels. Strong organisational & management skills. Well developed business relationships with key record stores would be a huge bonus. Processing invoices and issuing sales reports to labels. Basic accountancy skills and a good understanding of numbers, spreadsheets and pricing A genuine passion for music across multiple genres. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Working closely, effectively and efficiently with a small and extremely close-knit team. The ability to drive sales of all titles across every area of the distribution. Packing, managing and organizing large volumes of stock. Understanding and analysis of performance metrics across all sales results and marketing. techniques globally. Creative approaches to selling and the ability to sell across email and phone.
