Doors Open UNLOCKED: Becoming a Booking Agent with quietLoud

Today Doors Open and quietLoud launched Doors Open UNLOCKED: Becoming a Booking Agent with quietLoud, an online discussion and Q&A with LittleBig Music Agency’s founder, Ned Beckett, and senior booking agent, Alma Ernst.

Have you ever wondered what a booking agent does or if you might have what it takes to be one?

quietLoud is launching the latest iteration of their Become an Agent course, designed to equip aspiring booking agents with the knowledge, skills, and industry insights they need to succeed in the field. Three free scholarships to attend the course will be made available to apply for.

To introduce the course and accompanying scholarships to the Doors Open audience, we are hosting an online discussion with Ned Beckett and Alma Ernst from LittleBig Music Agency, which houses seminal artists such as Aphex Twin, aya, Ryoji Ikeda, Autechre and many more. This online session is designed to demystify the role of a booking agent, providing clarity for those interested in pursuing this career path by providing valuable insights into industry expectations and career pathways, and offering practical guidance for those looking to enter the field.

The online session will take place online on Tuesday 29th April at 18:30 - 20:00 BST / 19:30 - 21:00 CEST and will cover the following:

  • The responsibilities of a booking agent, from identifying opportunities to guiding an artist’s career strategy.
  •  Key industry structures, including different roles within agencies and how bookings work across territories.
  • Sharing practical insights and real-world experiences, providing an honest look into the realities of the job.
  • Actionable advice on skill development, networking, and steps to get started in the field.
  • A moderated discussion and session answering the questions gathered from this form, ensuring attendees gain a clear and realistic understanding of what it takes to work in this industry.

Spaces are uncapped and all are welcome to attend. Sign up for your place now here.
