Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years. 

 

Purpose of the role:

The City Manager is an integral part of RA’s Global Content Network. The City Manager's primary focus is to support the local electronic music scene in Berlin through adding local content (events, artists, labels, promoters) and pitching editorial suggestions. The focus of the role is representing RA in Berlin and helping to grow our audience via communicating RA’s offerings to local promoters, clubs and artists as well as acting as a link between RA, the GCN and the local electronic music community in Berlin. The City Manager helps users and readers discover the best events and music Berlin has to offer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Adding local content to RA’s website (events, artists, labels, promoters)
  • Communicating frequently and effectively with your manager and other RA staff
  • Maintaining the club database: updating it with pics, logos, addresses & links 
  • Pitching interesting local content (news, features, mixes, etc.) for editorial consideration
  • Researching, selecting and writing RA Picks
  • Onboarding local promoters, venues and artists to RA Pro
  • Having conversations with promoters, explaining RA’s offering and features  
  • Reaching out to promoters and assisting the revenue team in order to encourage and develop new ticketing and advertising relationships
  • Assisting with the roll-out and maintenance of new revenue tools like RA+ to support growth in your region (additional hours)
  • Pitching local community events and execute them with the help of RA full-time staff
  • Assisting with IRL events
  • We primarily communicate in English, but fluency in German is a requirement for this specific role
  • Assisting with website translations in your local language German

 

This is a freelance role 5 hours a week, preferably spread out across the week and the expected monthly base rate is 350€ with the potential for additional hours. Being based in Berlin is a requirement for this role. Please upload an English CV and Cover Letter.
