As the A&R Research Intern, you will leave the internship with a broad understanding of the new ways in which A&R research informs the modern-day music industry. You will be tasked with diving into our A&R research data analytics and will learn how we engage with Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms to identify rising talent. Additionally, you will develop a knowledge of the Billboard charts and the writers who appear on them. In doing so, you will have a unique perspective on one of the fastest growing sectors in the music industry. 

 

Our paid internship program will give you a unique opportunity to enhance your professional skillset, increase your knowledge of the industry, and expand your network. Our goal is to help you develop your talents as well as receive dedicated mentorship and support. Our summer Internship Program will run from Tuesday, June 3rd – Friday, August 15th and allows interns to work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This internship is a paid in-person opportunity and requires the ability to work in the specified office location. 

Responsibilities

What you'll do: 

  • Delve into Spotify, TikTok, and Instagram data to identify emerging artists 
  • Review Billboard charts and major album releases for unsigned writers 
  • Track releases by Concord artists to help A&R team gauge momentum of writers 
  • Research new methods of expanding data analytics in music publishing, including emerging solutions for TikTok data and the country music genre 
  • Perform broad data analyses to identify emerging trends 
  • Attend weekly meetings with supervisor and the rest of the A&R team 
  • Support Concord Music Publishing’s A&R Research team and, by extension, the broader Concord A&R team 

Qualifications

What you'll need: 

  • Strong analytic skillset 
  • This internship is a part-time paid internship and requires someone located in/near Nashville. 
  • The timeline of this internship program runs from Tuesday, June 3rd  – Friday, August 15th You must be able to work 20 hours/week.
