About the Team
Technology & Data plays a central role in the mission-driven nature of PPL’s operations, where metadata is the foundation of the business and the basis on which the company pays hundreds of thousands of musicians. Technology is the focus of a multiyear, multimillion pound investment plan that is currently being implemented at PPL, reflecting its central importance in the Company’s operations.
The Technology team are well respected within the business which is shown by the investment in Technology and in world-class systems selected by the team. Examples of this in recent years have been Workday, Salesforce, AWS, Tableau and Snowflake. As part of the tech team, you will be empowered to be innovative, push boundaries on PPL’s tech usage and will deal with a complexity of challenges each day.
About the role
As our Senior Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and the technology team. Working within our Technology department, the Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering business requirements from business users and translating these into artefacts which enable design and build of our systems.
You will work collaboratively with business teams, developers and architects to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements and PPL's strategic objectives.
A key part of this role will be determining the wider business strategy for individual projects, in support of PPL's Business Architect. You will define and set standards for Business Analysis and provide some QA over wider business analysis work.
You will lead the business analysis of PPL’s larger and more complex projects and at the same time provide support and guidance to more junior members of the team.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Understanding how business teams work holistically taking into consideration processes, systems, data and people.
2. Gathering requirements from business users for improvements to processes and systems.
3. Translating the business requirements into artefacts which enable the design and build of new processes and systems.
4. Playing a key role in ensuring that the delivered changes meet the business requirements including contributing to the testing phase of the project.
