About the Team

PPL’s Finance team manages the planning, organising, auditing and accounting for the company’s finances. They are responsible for all incoming and outgoing payments, including making over 150,000 payments to performers and recording rightsholders annually.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Finance Systems Analyst, you will work closely with the Head of Finance Transformation to enhance and optimise PPL’s core finance system, Workday. Your role will focus on driving improvements to the Finance team’s processes, ensuring Workday is fully leveraged, and supporting the development of a strategic roadmap for its usage. You’ll also take ownership of various system governance activities to maintain high standards of functionality and compliance.

The role involves designing and delivering configuration changes within Workday, including creating reports, dashboards, and incorporating newly released features. The Finance Systems Analyst will work closely with the Systems Lead in the Technology team, HR leads, and external consultancy partners to implement and optimise solutions.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver configuration and system changes, such as reporting and dashboards, to support the Finance team in operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with the Systems Lead in Technology to manage and allocate development tickets raised in Jira, liaising with external consultants where necessary.
  • Lead on the biannual feature releases from Workday on the Finance side, ensuring no negative impacts on existing processes and implementing valuable new features during the release window or recording them on PPL’s development backlog.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Finance team to resolve system issues while promoting self-sufficiency and supporting upskilling across the team.
  • Support the delivery of larger Workday-related projects and help embed new functionality and processes.
  • Use finance expertise and Workday knowledge to identify improvements that streamline standard processes for the Finance team and the wider business.
  • Support the Head of Finance Transformation in maintaining the Workday roadmap, identifying key developments, and ensuring delivery in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Oversee any brainstorms raised on Workday Community on behalf of PPL and advocate for others that could benefit PPL’s operations.

What you’ll need:

  • Either partway through or eligible for the Workday Pro accreditation program. 
  • At least 6 months of experience making configuration changes in Workday Financials. 
  • Experience as Finance Analyst or Accountant, with a strong background in working with large datasets. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workday Financials, including reporting, tenant management, and good governance practices. 
  • Ability to effectively test and document changes and updates, ensuring high-quality system enhancements. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify insights, clarify problems, and make well balanced decisions. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to share knowledge and collaborate effectively with users at all levels across the business and external support providers. 
  • A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continual Workday technical development and a drive for continual improvement.
