POSITION DESCRIPTION:

You are the face and voice of Mixmag ANZ for punters, promoters, bars, clubs, festivals and brands alike. 

You will unlock and deliver upon commercial opportunities through your own understanding of and engagement with music & nightlife communities in major cities around ANZ. 

This involves you pushing Mixmag ANZ’s in-built ticketing platform to these communities, in an effort to enter into commercial partnerships that are mutually beneficial. Maintaining a schedule of events, processing billing, organising sales reports and upholding a high level of customer care are all paramount to this process.

You will be responsible for finding opportunities with brands looking to partner not only with Mixmag ANZ, but with Australia/Aotearoa’s dance scene more broadly. Sponsored content, campaign ideas, display & social advertising are all examples of ways you will build out responses to the needs of potential clients, as well as seeing their campaigns through to completion.

Larger-scale partnerships with festivals, both local & international, will become a regular undertaking as Mixmag ANZ’s commercial reputation grows. This includes content campaigns, stage sponsorships, and much more.

Perhaps most important of all, this position is one that will evolve with the passion & energy of a successful applicant. We are looking for someone who is ready to pave their own way through the musical landscape of Australia & Aotearoa, & ultimately become a leader in this space.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistently report on potential new business opportunities via new & existing clubs, festivals, event collaborators & brands.
  • Regularly meet with potential clients both locally, nationally & even internationally.
  • Maintain an ongoing tracker of potential leads, to be visible by the wider Mixmag ANZ team.
  • Act as a spokesperson & contact at Mixmag ANZ affiliated events.
  • Brainstorm campaign ideas for content.
  • Create visually striking presentations to be presented to potential clients.
  • Prepare & organise sales reports.
  • Take control of ongoing commercial budgets, including spend on-site, via content and for expenses (e.g meetings).
  • Update ongoing client database.
  • Coordinate conference calls & chair meetings between potential clients and Mixmag ANZ Director & Managing Editor.
  • Work with Director & Managing Editor to identify local brands, venues, artists and events that would be commercially and editorially viable for collaboration.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE HAS:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in Sales, Events, Ticketing or similar
  • Bachelor degree in business, media, events or similar
  • Strong writing & research skills
  • Excellent communication skills & stakeholder management
  • Ability to work independently & find opportunities unprompted
  • Great calmness under pressure & working in high pressure environments
  • Considerable skill with budget management 
  • Familiarity & comfortability with Microsoft Office Suite or similar
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Existing relationships within Australia/Aotearoa’s dance and electronic music scenes
  • Desire to lead by example and truly own & embody the needs of an international brand representing itself locally for the first time

Salary Range

$65,000 – $85,000 per year
