Job Title:  VP, Finance
 
A little bit about our team:
Our Finance team supports all aspects of financials for Rhino Entertainment, as well as Global Catalog initiatives around the world.  We’re a tight-knit team where you’ll gain experience from a variety of backgrounds and have exposure to many areas within company.     

Your role:
This position will be responsible for leading the FP&A (Financial/Managerial accounting) function of Rhino finance which includes the delivery of timely and accurate actuals and forecast. You’ll manage the finance team, and work closely with the CFO and other executives in the company.  All while working in our energizing DTLA office.

Here you’ll get to:
•    Lead the FP&A function to deliver timely Budget and Forecasting, which includes roll up of sales and revenue lines, calculation of variable costs, Overhead, Marketing and A&R costs – including Corporate Reporting, & Management Reporting.  
•    Lead Quarterly/Monthly closes including preparation/approval of various monthly/quarterly close entries. Requires working closely with the Center of Excellence and reviewing various analyses provided to ensure activity is properly recorded.  
•    Perform variance and margin analysis to ensure accurate forecasts and determine causes of fluctuations; Review other variance analysis prepared by finance staff to manage results.
•    Ensure timely receipt/review of information to meet various Corporate and Management deadlines.
•    Engage Sr. Management by sharing performance results; Prepare close and forecast summaries for executive level management
•    Review and approve Artist Payments (P&D, JV and royalty statements), POs, PRs, Check requests
•    Serve as key SOX control owner for all critical areas including recoupment analysis
•    Review new licensing deals for appropriate revenue accounting treatment under corporate revenue recognition standards
•    Perform cash forecasting based on input from key label departments (ie: BA)
•    Coordinate A&R contractual payments to ensure timeliness and proper accounting treatment
•    Field audit requests
•    Design and implement process improvements and efficiencies related to finance
•    Manage the finance team providing direction and mentorship
 
About you:
•    Proficient in Excel, Word, with preferred experience in SAP and Hyperion.
•    Strong decision making, problem solving, organization and analytical skills 
•    Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment
•    Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in interacting with Corporate and other internal/external parties.
•    Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing accounting transactions.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and develop staff
•    Self-starter
•    Integrity, trust and responsibility
We’d love it if you also had:
•    CPA, preferable but not required, with four or more years public accounting experience 
•    10-15 years experience in Finance or Accounting
•    Music or Entertainment Industry experience
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance

Salary Range

$175,000 to $200,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
