As a Software QA Engineer, you will take responsibility for ensuring the quality of innovative software products. You will work closely with the Software Team and the QA Team to plan, execute and document tests on updates to our existing products as well as new products in development, focusing on ROLI’s creator experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with digital music production. Some knowledge and keen interest in software QA testing that demonstrates key competencies necessary to succeed in this role including attention to detail, organisation, self-motivation, and the ability to work successfully within a team are also desirable. You will also take initiative and drive change when needed.

This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a disruptive category of music making devices we are creating called ‘Connected Music’ - a network of hardware and software, platform and developer products that will revolutionise how music is made.

What you’ll do: 

  • Ensure quality of software across the ROLI product range
  • Work closely with the Software Team and the QA Team to specify and test new features
  • Create and maintain test plans and test cases for new product developments and existing product updates to audio programs and plugins across multiple operating systems and in conjunction with multiple DAWs and other third party applications
  • Execute planned test cases as well as exploratory tests
  • Represent the interests of the creator, using hands­ on testing to find ways of improving the user experience of every aspect of our software
  • Develop the use of test automation across the software team 

What you’ll need:

  • Experience working with audio software and digital music production workflows
  • A passion for music and music technology
  • Ability to understand and talk about complex technical problems
  • Excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, flawless written English
  • Superb and demonstrable time-management skills and the ability to work independently

Bonus points:

  • Knowledge of the software development process and software QA testing
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes
  • Knowledge of bug tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
  • Experience with coding or test automation
