Defected Records is an independent British record label specialising in house music recordings, an internationally syndicated broadcasting platform, events, publishing, marketing, and artist booking. Established in 1999 by former AM:PM and Cooltempo A&R Simon Dunmore, Defected has a number of sub-labels including DFTD, 4 To The Floor, Glitterbox, Classic Music Company, Sondela, Faith, D4 D4NCE, and The Remedy Project. Defected also owns and manages over 30 catalogues for heritage house imprints. The Defected catalogue includes singles from artists such as Bob Sinclar, CamelPhat, Kings of Tomorrow, Masters At Work, Dennis Ferrer, Mike Dunn, MK and more recently The Martinez Brothers, Boys Noize, Peggy Gou, Jamie Jones, Honey Dijon, Gorgon City, Purple Disco Machine, Vintage Culture, and many more. 

Defected run events globally including stages at major music festivals and standalone club nights, as well as residencies in Ibiza since 2003. They also host Defected festivals in London, Croatia, and Malta, drawing people from the UK, Australia, North America, South Africa and all corners of Europe.  About You

As Events Marketing and Promotions Assistant, you will have an integral involvement creative, content, buying, attending, and assisting and marketing of events working across the team and wider Defected business. You will assist the Events Promotions team with a wide range of administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of every event whilst growing your own relationships and acting as a strong ambassador for Defected.

What you are here to do:

 Your key responsibilities are:

 Delivery

  • Responsible for updating ⁠ticket counts for all events with external promoters
  • Responsible for the daily ticket or sign-up updates for Defected Malta, Defected Croatia, Defected Dubai 
  • Assist in weekly catch ups with promoters, making sure they have the tools to promote the events 
  • Assist on marketing campaigns and socials posts for events
  • Responsible for updating festival websites with information on festivals, FAQs, Gallery and other day to day website needs ensuring that the information is presented clearly
  • Manage events related customer service on intercom and all defected emails
  • Assist in managing event data and requesting event data from promoters post showsAssist in managing and booking all photo / video / media teams with other internal team members
  • Assist the wider Events Marketing and Promotions team, working closely with the promoters leading up to the event checking in if they need any more creative content, checking on ticket sales, roll out timeline, sending assets, keeping tab on promoters & artist support and other event marketing and promotion needs
  • Manage/organise content post all events and send out to management
  • Assist in arranging promotional videos & artist adverts to be made for all events 
  • Assist in managing external media teams across all events & manage budgets for these, ensuring accurate data is collected
  • Responsible for uploading new event information to the back end of the Defected website
  • Responsible for updating the Defected App in a timely manner so that it is up to date with new festivals/tours information and dates
  • Responsible for uploading event details to third party websites such as RA in a timely manner
  • Liaise with artist management, sending out assets, ticket links and content to artists pre and post-events to ensure the event is being marketed through the appropriate channels
  • Gather high quality photos and videos from Defected events, creating galleries and inputting them into the relevant websites ensuring that it stays up to date with all the latest details. Also creating “best of” folders.
  • Source the best videos from our events / artists to use for dark ads to promote events which portray them and Defected in a positive lightAssist with event marketing roll outs as needed and scheduling for new events to ensure that all marketing strategies are fulfilled by the team on the correct date
  • Assist with collecting customer ticket data and collate this data from event sales to provide the wider team with valuable insights and suggestions on how to focus marketing strategies on events which are falling behind the desired targets
  • Assist the team with scheduling of event posts across various social media channels helping to avoid repetition and to keep our socials fresh and engaging
  • Responsible for contacting media teams after events and processing invoices
  • Organise and collate event content to be uploaded onto Google Drive, ensuring all information is stored securely
  • Be present at events and responsible for assisting with social media or media teams accordingly. 
  • Involved in buying necessary products for events whilst sticking within a given budget
  • Assist in creating festival information packages working closely with the Events Promotions team to organise guest itineraries, social assets and appropriate signage for the event 
  • Collating guest list for all events 

Essential experience:

 The Events Production and Promotions Assistant is expected to have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Experience in a similar role, or previous experience in an events industry
  • Passionate about social media and staying up to date on trends to ensure our content is engaging for our audience
  • Passionate about events marketing and promotion
  • Experience working with artists and promoters, managing schedules and events calendars
  • An understanding of budgets and how to manage money within projects
  • An understanding of how to interpret and extrapolate statistical data from customer ticket sales
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills with a wide range of people
  • Strong IT skills across Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs/Sheets etc
  • Passionate about house music and knowledge on key trends within the industry knowledge of Photoshop and Premiere/Final Cut is considered as a plus
  • Excellent organisational and time keeping skills, with the ability to adapt and keep on top of various projects within a fast-paced environment

Salary Range

£25,000-£27,500
