Motive Unknown is a strategic marketing consultancy working with artists & managers, record labels, music creation platforms, music hardware and other music-adjacent companies. We help our clients grow and forge better connections with their audiences. We currently work with some of the biggest names in independent music, including Beatport, Domino, Dirty Hit, Partisan, Warp, Sub Pop, Jungle, Anjunabeats, Plugin Boutique, Rhodes Pianos and many more.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Paid Social Exec to join our team. The ideal candidate will be keenly immersed in online culture and will live and breathe paid social strategy and best practices. They would have an understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools, and keen sense of what drives online visibility, engagement, and sales.

As a Paid Social Exec, you will be responsible for working with our Marketing Managers to develop and execute effective campaigns and strategies for our clients, leveraging paid social strategy and creative output.

Key responsibilities include

  • Design, manage and execute paid social campaigns on Meta, TikTok and YouTube across a range of clients, from artists to record labels to software companies (other platforms will sometimes be required).
  • Support Marketing Manager’s on client projects to plan and execute best in class paid social campaigns.
    • Creative and account based experimentation to optimise ad campaigns to meet targets set by clients.
  • Analysing ad account data and providing detailed reports to provide insight as to what is working and what might require fine tuning.
  • Direct management and responsibility for account health, campaign optimisations and timely launches.
  • Working with senior team on systems thinking and ways to improve paid social work flow across the agency.

Required Experience

  • At least 1+ year working hands on with Meta Ads platform
  • Full funnel experience across awareness, engagement and conversion based campaign structures, with the ability to leverage each area to meet client & project goals including streaming growth, e-commerce as well as social growth and engagement.
  • The client business models span physical and digital e-commerce, software subscriptions and lead generation, which requires a robust knowledge of platforms and strategies to apply to different projects.
  • Creative experimentation experience with the ability to add new concept and variation ideas to clients creative outputs.
  • Technical understanding of conversion tracking setup and channel attribution to make sense of all available data.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, quality checking ad set-ups across multiple accounts and territories to ensure budgets are strictly kept to.
  • Systems thinking - Proactive in finding solutions to improve efficiency within your role and the team you interact with.
  • Experience running multiple budgets across clients, campaigns, platforms and countries and managing timelines as part of a critical path is a must.
  • An awareness of music and its audiences is preferred but not a essential.
