Job Description

We are currently looking for a Digital Media Planner to help plan social, audio, video, search, display, and mobile advertising campaigns across one of our key labels. 

As a Digital Media Planner, you will advise label stakeholders on industry trends and ways to harness different technology solutions to drive commercial and audience development KPIs for our roster of incredible artists. Successful candidates for this opportunity will demonstrate strategic thought and management skills that go beyond platform knowledge. 

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute digital media strategies for music artists and record labels, aligned with their overall marketing goals. Clearly and concisely deliver these plans to the label and digital media team. Be proactive in understanding the needs of the label and artists and deliver digital media plans and strategies that address these.
  • Work closely with the operations team on the detailed execution and analysis of these campaigns.
  • Lead planning and reporting sessions with your label(s), setting the agenda and leading follow up discussion.
  • Track and measure the results of digital media campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement. Be proactive providing analysis and advising labels on best performing tactics.
  • Support Senior Digital Media Planner on Audience segmentation for Digital Media Team
  • Work closely with audience and insight team to understand audience profiles, build these out across our ad platforms and work with other planners to standardize our audience approach.
  • Ensure audience strategy is followed to maximise our ability to benchmark and understand performance of these audiences. Helping to strategise and implement improvements our media management processes and operations.
  • HighTouch lead for the digital media team from planning perspective. Combine audience segmentation work with the platform to deliver actionable, targetable audiences.
  • Stay up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
  • Establish yourself as an expert in all aspects of digital media and advertising. Share this expertise with various stakeholders around Sony Music from labels to 4th Floor Creative and the Digital Media team.
  • Work with external partners (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Spotify etc.) on best strategies for our artist campaigns, identify new advertising opportunities and apply to our artist campaigns where relevant, then assess the performance and impact.
  • Drive Digital Media team internal comms. Understand and explain high level industry digital media trends and its impact in context broader artist marketing campaign and digital partner landscape 
  • Responsible for collation and coordination of The Beat from the Dig Media team and the Dig Media highlights email. Working with planners and operations to identify campaigns and projects to highlight and collating into relevant places.
 

Who you are:

  • Demonstrable experience of online advertising, whether at a publisher, agency, trading desk, technology company, or end-advertiser. 
  • Strong data analysis abilities (e.g. familiarity with Excel v-lookups, pivot tables, and basic functions) 
  • Strong analytical and consulting skills, rooted in ability to draw and communicate insights from multiple data points 
  • Consultative approach to developing and managing business relationships 
  • Innovative thinker with prior evidence of successfully executing on ideas 
  • Ambition to perform unprecedented tasks and obtain new skills, be comfortable with uncertainty, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment 
  • Ability and desire to scale knowledge and learning to other junior members 
  • Love of music desirable; understanding of music business and digital music landscape preferred 
  • Experience working in a matrixed organisation is a plus
  • Working knowledge of one or more ad platforms – Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, DV360
