Job Description

As a Tableau/Power BI Developer at TuneCore, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will work closely with our data analysts and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI. Your work will contribute to our mission of helping independent musicians thrive in the digital music industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and requirements.

  • Design and develop interactive, user-friendly, and aesthetically pleasing dashboards and reports in Tableau and Power BI.

  • Create and maintain data sources, data models, and data pipelines to ensure accurate and reliable data visualization.

  • Optimize and streamline existing dashboards and reports for performance and usability.

  • Conduct data analysis to uncover insights and trends that inform business strategies.

  • Work with data analysts and data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and availability.

  • Provide training and support to end-users to maximize their ability to leverage Tableau and Power BI for data-driven decision-making.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in data visualization and analytics tools.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

  • Proficiency in data visualization best practices and design principles.

  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and data warehousing.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Tableau or Power BI certification is a plus.

  • Snowflake certification is a plus.

Salary: $100,000-120,000

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience as a Business Intelligence developer or 5+ years of professional experience as a Business Intelligence Developer in lieu of a degree

Desired Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Power BI and DAX

  • Tableau

  • Snowflake

  • Strong SQL including SQL optimization

  • Excel pivot tables and formulas

  • Foundational analytics skills

  • Stakeholder management

  • Dashboard design, look and feel

  • Strong communication skills

  • Requirements gathering

  • Presentation skills

  • Experience with other data visualization tools such as Looker, QlikView, Power BI or Tableau.

  • Understanding of Data Modeling concepts

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of music industry trends is a plus.

Where you'll be

This role will be based out of our Brooklyn, NY headquarters. TuneCore operates on an in-office and remote hybrid model giving our teams flexibility and choice of how they work. This role will have the option to work predominantly remotely and work from the office 7 days per month on a flexible schedule organized at the department level.
