Social Media and PR Apprentice 

Kickstart your career in Electronic music at one of the world's most dynamic and renowned agencies for modern-day Artist Development & PR Management whilst studying a bespoke L4 Music PR and Communications or Multi-channel Marketing course with BCE. 

Remote, working from home role.

£13,400 for first 12 months, at least NMW thereafter. MCPR pay for course and fees. 


Working alongside MCPR’s dynamic team in three key areas – Social Media, DSP and PR, you will be embedded at the heart of our project and gain a broad understanding of the world of PR, Artist Development, DJ/Radio Promotions, Social Media & DSP with one of the leading agencies in the Electronic music space.

- Ideating & Creating high quality social media content
- Manage talent social media accounts
- Craft growth strategies on various platforms
- Track and report relevant metrics
- Assisting in general day-to-day management of social media accounts for clients

- Targeted research and outreach to global DJs, Radio Producers and Playlist Curators through meticulous data collection, delving into target markets and familiarising yourself with national, regional and local Electronic music scenes.
- Curating MCPR's in-house Spotify playlists every week.
- Term-length project aimed at building our third-party Spotify Playlisting network.
- Contribute to the expansion of our DJ promo database.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with global DJs / Radio Producers / Curators and wider industry contacts.
- Assisting in general day-to-day tasks in support of the music industry and DSP team.

- Crafting, editing, and reviewing press releases
- Working with clients to create short and long-term social media goals and then make them a reality
- Press release distribution to media platforms
- Conducting interviews with talent
- Contributing and managing PR campaigns
- Scheduling and managing mailing list communications
- Assisting in routine management tasks
- Constructing and updating progress reports for clients

Personal Qualities
Has an eloquent and creative command of the English language
A background in the Electronic music world
Skills Required
Graphic Design/Video Editing skills (Adobe Suite/Canva etc)
Competence with social media content creation/planning tools
Has a fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word & Excel)
Can meet project deadlines consistently
Has an eloquent and creative command of the English language
Can produce engaging, editorial-style articles akin to DJ Mag or Mixmag
Qualifications Required
Five GCSEs at Grades A*-C or 9 – 4 (including English & Maths), Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship. International England-based applicants must be able to present equivalent translations. Those currently in FE are ineligible to apply.

The apprenticeship programme and employment are inclusive of each other. You will need to demonstrate excellent levels of commitment to both the training and job role. You will work at Matt Cardwell PR 80% of the time, and train towards your accreditation for 20% of the time.
