Resident Advisor is the world’s foremost platform for discovering electronic music, artists and events. Described by the NY Times as “the most influential electronic music site in the world”, every month RA reaches more than 5m people across its web, mobile and app properties.

RA is looking for an exciting new voice in digital content and music journalism to help define and shape the output of the world's leading electronic music platform across all of its touch points. We are looking for someone who is wholeheartedly committed to the future of content creation, distribution, creativity and music journalism. You should not be afraid to rip it up and start again. You should understand the history of RA and what it means to people all over the world and have a new perspective on how we should reframe the codes of a 21+ year old institution for the future. You are equal parts strategic, creative and an inspiring leader of teams. We are looking to meet a diverse array of candidates and backgrounds, who would be interested in arguably, the most influential job in electronic music. 

 

Our editorial, content and socials is the primary way we communicate our core values + brand. This leadership role is responsible for defining the stories that matter, whilst working with the Chief Brand and Creative Officer and Head of Content to strategize on how best to execute the stories across our many touch points. You will need to have a strong sense of direction and conviction, for a platform that has to strike the perfect balance of B2C and B2B communication and stories. 

You will sit amongst the company's Head of Departments leadership team, ensuring aligned strategic delivery across the business. With the HOD’s you will be required to work collaboratively to execute multiple company elements such as Revenue, Content, Brand Partnerships across Editorial. As head of the Editorial team, you will be required to represent the brand and be the custodian of its integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CBCO to shape RA's editorial + content direction.
  • Drive the development of the team to ensure they are executing our strategy at the highest level to achieve our vision.
  • Responsible for the creation and direction of the overall Editorial strategy.
  • Drive output innovation and change
  • Drive RA brand and business presentation throughout all editorial output across long form, video, audio and socials. 
  • Assisting the commercial team in developing + executing brand opportunities.
  • Ensure RA maintains its editorial integrity at all times.
  • Establish copy, tone, and messaging guidelines for editorial across websites, social media, streaming, and all other channels.
  • Set, assign and track RA's editorial content targets for coverage of local scenes.
  • Work with the Head of Content to ensure content distribution is optimized. 
  • Contribute content when necessary and at a frequency that best suits the role.
  • Oversee OKR process from the Editorial’s perspective
  • Be in charge of the Editorial budget
  • Be a leader, coach and manager

  • An understanding of our core business offering and how that should inform our output.
  • We are open to different levels of experience and seniority, however, it is crucial the candidate has experience in leading a team and overseeing content strategy.
