Marketing Manager, Hideout Festival.
Full Time.
Hybrid working - 3 days per week required in our East London office. This is not available as a fully remote role.
Direct reports - 1 x Marketing Executive.
£38k - £45k DOE.
Hideout Festival is a leading electronic festival on Zrce Beach, Croatia. From reasonably humble routes, with just a few thousand people back in 2011, Hideout has grown to be one of the leading electronic music festivals in Europe. With large crowds travelling from the UK to Croatia, the 5-day event spans day parties, boat parties and evening headline sets.
Our Marketing Manager will look after project planning and successful delivery of marketing activity across the key music festival account. They will manage the Marketing Executive and work closely with the Commercial Director to help put together a best in class programme of strategic and tactical activity which answers all marketing objectives whilst also working on site at the event in June 2023.
You’ll help to drive and increase ticket sales, brand awareness and positive association, and help to coordinate marketing activities with various internal and external departments such as business development, sales, design, PR, operations, talent and senior management. You’ll need to be passionate about music, music events and festivals and the candidate will be available to work onsite at Hideout Festival, 23rd June - 1st July 2023.
CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION
Create and implement the marketing plan for the festival meeting marketing objectives and best practices
Consistent planning, reporting, measurement and managing day-to-day marketing activities
Helping to formulate, oversee and maintain external partnerships and relationships, including PR / media agencies, media partners, sponsors
Undertaking continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
Helping to identify content marketing opportunities
Working with data and insights to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
Implementing marketing plans for all launches during the campaign and liaising with the various external agencies to deliver content across social, digital, mailers etc
Coordinating the sharing of assets with external parties, including talent representatives
CONTENT:
Formulating ideas for and creating content for social media, mailers, website etc. We work with freelance designers and videographers, but candidates who can create content via Adobe suite will be preferred
Writing copy for social posts, proposals, external output, promotion and the website
Hiring, briefing and managing the relationships with videography and photography teams who will be tasked with capturing content on site and delivering this post event
Managing artwork briefs and liaising with any agencies involved in creating content for online, print & photography
Manage any brand assets, logo, imagery etc, for use by the rest of the business
WEBSITE & APP MANAGEMENT:
Manage website maintenance, design and development, and update copy and images regularly
Ensure brand is consistently presented across website
Manage any problem and bugs on the website with IT/Dev support
Use google analytics and hot jar, as well as any other tools, to measure web performance
Manage design and build of the festival app with app developers
SOCIAL MEDIA & COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT:
Social media management across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube
Curating and monitoring social media plans
Optimising social performance and ensuring the brand is utilising best practice at all times
Researching, exploring and investigating new platforms, trends and tech that can push the brand forwards. TikTok and Instagram Reels are the primary growth areas for the festival at present. A good understanding of these platforms and a keen interest in emerging social media platforms and trends is a must
Engaging in social listening and conversation
MAILER MANAGEMENT:
Manage direct email marketing platform
Grow the community on our mailing list, and also regularly trim the database to remove inactive users
Plan, design, create and send out mailers, including running automated mailer campaigns based on data segmentation, adhering to GDPR and other best practices
PAID ADVERTISING MANAGEMENT:
Oversee advertising strategy and consider additional areas of growth for the paid advertising campaign
Work closely with advertising agency to develop and manage paid social media campaigns
Manage google adwords campaign
PR & INFLUENCERS
Working closely with PR team to deliver an effective press campaign for the festival
Appreciating different sectors that the festival appeals across, and ensuring our PR team are engaging with these through media partnerships, press trips, activations and more
Influencer marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of the strategy - we are looking for someone with an understanding of this space, and ideas about how to create engaging influencer content, on-site but also through the festival campaign lifespan
Manage marketing related activities with sponsors, including coordinating campaigns and competitions, regular meetings to understand needs, and assisting them on site to ensure activations & content capturing is going to plan
REPORTING & BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
Assist the Marketing Executive with reporting to the team on weekly activities and the results
Create in depth monthly marketing reports
Work with the team on analysis and insight to help support business decisions
Be responsible for annual marketing budget. Plan the spend across the entire festival campaign, work closely with management on sign off, and monitor throughout the year, optimising spend and changing tact where results dictate
Work closely with accounts to ensure invoices are paid, receipts are managed and cashflow expectations are met
A proven track record of handling large campaign budgets with competency and flair is expected
ON SITE MARKETING MANAGEMENT (23rd June - 1st July):
Working closely with Marketing Executive and Marketing Assistant to manage a 360 in-event marketing plan across the website, app, social media, advertising, mailers, PR media, influencers, sponsors, artists and partners
Coordinate with PR team on crisis communication and assist PR team on site to facilitate 50+ press and media attendance
Coordinate with operations and travel management regularly regarding all information needed for customers
Manage photographers and videographers to hit content objectives on daily videos and photos showcasing the event
Coordinating with sponsors on site to make sure their objectives are met
Representing the brand at the event and managing relationships with partner brands
Management of after event customer survey and marketing report
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Proven track record of music event marketing with 3-5 years of relevant experience
Entrepreneurial, hands-on, enthusiastic, creative with a love of music and live events
Excellent written English and numeracy skills with good eye for detail
Intellectually curious with an analytical and process-oriented mind-set
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of GDPR and marketing best practices
Ability to manage social media content and platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok & YouTube
Adobe, Wordpress, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Keynote capability essential.
