Your role and responsibilities
As a Course Creator for Contemporary Piano Styles you will be part of our Course Team, which develops educational content for the course section in our app. Complementary to our classically oriented curriculum, you’ll be developing new courses and exercises for contemporary piano playing, including chord accompaniment and improvisation in various styles. You’ll work together with other pianists, teachers, copywriters, and video producers to create interactive music lessons that delight millions of piano players. Together we will take a new lesson from idea to release, including pitching the concept, defining a structure, drafting a script, finding appropriate repertoire, composing engaging exercises, and producing the video material.
Requirements
We’re looking for a passionate, natural-born teacher who can break down topics into clear, engaging narratives and explain complex musical concepts in simple terms. You're someone who wants to teach our users how to play the music they love by working with fun and innovative methods that reach beyond the norm.
You should also bring:
- Completed piano studies with a focus on popular styles or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of classical and jazz music theory
- Proven ability to teach player of all levels with the priority of developing a love for music, rather than perfect playing technique
- An affinity for forward-thinking technologies in order to maximize fun, engagement and skill development
- A strong feeling for pedagogical progression and the ability to generate lessons, exercises and musical ideas at appropriate levels
- Great creative thinking, organizational and communication skills
