Senior Electronics Engineer

Based: High Wycombe / Hybrid
Term: Permanent, Full time
Salary: Dependent on experience + Excellent benefits

The Role:

  • We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our interfaces team, delivering our class-leading audio products.
  • You’re passionate about designing and bringing products to market, solving difficult technical challenges, and sharing your knowledge and experience with others.
  • You’ve got solid technical skills and a proven track-record of product delivery, and you can apply your engineering mindset to the non-technical aspects of projects.
  • This role involves technical leadership and system-level design, while still allowing you to get your hands dirty at component level.
  • We support flexible working, but due to the hands-on nature of the role you’ll need to attend our office in High Wycombe periodically.

Duties will include:

  • Analogue and mixed signal design. You’ll have well rounded design skills and cover areas including power supplies, high speed design, and wireless technology.
  • Early and significant involvement in specification and planning, defining the hardware approach and system design for your products. You’ll produce schematics and PCBs to quality, cost and regulatory requirements, and deliver them against production schedules. This means you’ll need strong analytical and planning skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering and management stakeholders.
  • Design authority for your hardware. You’ll own it throughout its life cycle and be the point of contact for any electronics issues. You may also consult on other projects in the Group that suit your skills and experience.
  • Co-ordinating ODM/JDM partners or contractors in addition to working with our internal engineering team.
  • Coaching and mentoring other engineers, peer review of designs, helping to define best practices and improving our engineering processes.
  • Investigating new technologies in line with our roadmaps, supporting production and making enhancements to our existing products.
  • We want to support your ongoing career development, and we’ll encourage your growth as a technical expert or towards line-management depending on your aspirations.

Required skills and experience – you should apply for this role if you have:

  • A degree or HND in Electronics Engineering (or related subject).
  • Minimum of five years professional experience in an electronics design role.
  • A proven track-record of technical leadership and product delivery.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills at component and system level.
  • Excellent communication skills; negotiation, coaching, and team building.
  • Ability to work under pressure, learning and applying new skills quickly.

Desirable skills and experience – it would be an advantage if you have:

  • Consumer electronics, professional audio, or related industry experience.
  • Experience with contract design services and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of audio performance testing methods and standards.
  • Experience obtaining regulatory approvals (EMCD, RED etc.)
  • An active interest in making music and music technology.
