Job Description

Junior QA Engineer (Audio Hardware & Firmware Testing) (m/f/d)

Location: Berlin office, hybrid

Term: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Depending on professional experience

Your role:

Are you interested in testing and Quality Assurance?
Are you passionate and knowledgeable about music, audio technology and acoustics?

If you have answered yes to both the above, we’d love to hear from you! We are expanding our QA Team, and we are looking for a Junior Engineer to join us as we develop our next generations of studio monitors.

If you want to join a creative team, involved in the development of industry leading loudspeakers and audio reproduction equipment, in an exciting company which is committed to grow and evolve, please get in touch!

What you'll be doing:

You will be working in a growing team, as part of a multi-functional design and engineering department. You will be providing input into new product development and helping to deliver QA activities on new projects.

As a Junior Engineer, you will be focused on learning from the more experienced members of the team. However, as you learn, you will be looking for opportunities to make your own unique contribution to the team, helping us to improve our approach to testing and quality.

You will be working closely with all engineering disciplines within a growing department – electronics and acoustical engineers, firmware and software developers, mechanical designers – as well as project and product managers, and our Production teams in both China and Berlin.

Your key activities include:

  • Helping to analyse new product concepts from a quality perspective and providing input into test plans.
  • Executing functional, non-functional and user acceptance tests.
  • Documenting and reporting on test results, working with other engineering teams to understand and address any issues.
  • Evaluating new product quality, escalating quality concerns as required.
  • Identifying and helping to implement improvements to our testing and QA processes.

An ideal candidate is likely to be:

  • Interested in product quality, with a clear idea of what this means to our users.
  • Previously engaged in some informal product testing (for example, as part of a beta testing programme, or in an academic context).
  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • A clear communicator, methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to problem solving.
  • Self-motivated, with a desire to learn.
  • Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about music, audio technology, and acoustics.

Experience of some of the following would also be useful:

  • Scripting or programming in Python or MATLAB
  • Loudspeakers, their design and development, and related technologies

I don’t have all the experience you’ve asked for, should I still apply?

Our priority is to find the right fit for the team, and for the company, and we will always do what we can to support your individual development. In other words, if you don’t quite have all the experience listed above, we’d still be interested in hearing from you. Let us know what you would bring to the role, and why you’d be a great fit for the team.

We look forward to receiving your application!
