Your role and responsibilities
As a Music Notation Expert, you will be responsible for transferring original music scores into notation software as well as proofreading and improving our existing sheet music. You will support the Song Team with your deep knowledge of piano notation and engraving rules, based on classical music theory. Your editing and engraving skills allow you to produce accurate, high-quality scores and countercheck the accuracy of any given result.
Your tasks include:
- Transcribing original music scores into notation software
- Proofreading music sheets created by the Song Team
- Identifying and correcting outdated and imperfect sheets
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is extremely passionate about piano music (notation) and wants to assist our team. Our ideal candidate has:
- Excellent music notation knowledge
- Experience with music notation software (Sibelius, MuseScore, Finale)
- Precise music transcription skills
- Good knowledge of (piano) music theory, history, and repertoire
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn new tools/software quickly
