Job Description

JOB OUTLINE

Job Title: Roland Store Product Specialist
Specialism: Pianos, Keys and Synth. Products
Hours: Full Time
Location: Roland Showroom on Denmark Street, London

Do you have a passion for music and a desire to share your enthusiasm with others?

Do you play piano and keyboards to a good standard?

Can you deliver fantastic customer experiences—and results—working alongside an experienced retail team?

If so, we want to hear from you.

Our brand-new Roland and BOSS showroom is now open on Denmark Street in central London, where we are show-casing the very best of our products to new, aspiring and experienced musicians alike.

As a Roland Store Product Specialist, your job is to take someone’s aspirations and turn them into reality by showing them the perfect products from Roland, BOSS or V-MODA, through demonstrations of the latest products, via instore and online events with product “gurus” or artists, and through regular social media activity.

You

We’re looking for a Roland Store Product Specialist who really understands customers and can help find the perfect solution to their needs, particularly in relation to pianos and keyboard products.

Events—whether online or instore—are a key part of attracting customers to the Roland Store. Whether livestreaming, offering hints, tips and advice, or hosting an instore event with a local artist, your ability to deliver exciting events or presentations for customers is essential; you need to be as comfortable in front of the camera as you are behind it.

You will, of course, be an accomplished and skilled salesperson, with a desire to grow the retail business while consistently delivering Roland’s high standards of customer service. You’ll also need to handle a variety of digital marketing tasks, as well as performing the usual requirements of running a retail store; from presentation to stock control, to regular reporting.

Key qualifications

  • The ability to deliver a fantastic customer-focused experience in a busy environment, whether online or offline, resulting in sales growth
  • A strong interest in music, with the ability to play piano to the equivalent of Grade 5 standard. Other instruments would be a bonus.
  • A good understanding of music technology—particularly Roland pianos and keyboards and the equivalent competitor products—as well as the ability to absorb new information readily and easily; and be able to pass this knowledge on to others
  • Sales experience, ideally in a retail environment.
  • The communication skills to comfortably converse, build relationships and interact appropriately with individuals, customers, and the wider Roland/BOSS team team—at all levels
  • Ideally experience in planning, organizing, and implementing events—online or offline—using the usual social media channels
  • The ability to react to challenges while remaining calm
  • The confidence and organisational skills to manage all aspects of a busy retail environment.
