We are searching for an experienced program manager who can drive a program narrative and thrives in event production.

The Black Music Summit is a 4-day event and the first of its kind. Designed by Black creative industry professionals for artists, executives, fans, and allies, BMS was created to champion, inspire and develop black talent. We are looking for an artistic individual that is passionate about program activation and an out-of-the-box thinker to join us as an integral part of the BMS team in the position of Production Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and innovative team as we plan a music summit that will be taking place on the island of Ibiza in the summer of 2023.


Who you are:

  • UK or Berlin Based
  • Have an Activator mindset
  • Proven experience in production or project management (in the creative or music sector )
  • Able to manage event schedule arc, program design, session content creation, and speaker management elements
  • Capacity to engage, manage, and develop positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about music and the industry
  • Strong verbal communicator and coordinates across many different teams to ensure alignment of event timelines and scheduling logistics
  • Multitasker with initiative and strong time management skills
  • Able to handle high-pressured environments
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Reliable work ethic and professional manner
  • Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office and ClickUp program management tool, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Slides, and adobe suite
  • Fluent in key social media channels: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Have an understanding of black music and the black community, especially in the UK, the US, and West Africa.


What you’ll do:

  • Function as the go-to person for overall project organization and timeline
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure key milestones are tracked and executed
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources for the flawless execution of the summit, including other producers, assistants, technical staff, vendors, and other relevant third parties to ensure that the project is delivered and produces the desired results
  • Ensure that the summit is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop the project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Manage changes in the project such as scope, schedule, and costs
  • Actively identify and perform risk mitigation
  • Support in the finalization of logistical details such as location and venue booking
  • Complete production and artist itineraries
  • Be present onsite during the event to manage logistics
  • Manage pre-summit lead-up events as well as prepare post-event reports accessing event takeaways and learnings


The Black Music summit is a social enterprise created to increase cultural currency and create opportunities for black creatives with the aim to close the gap between black talent on the charts and on the executive level. This world-class summit will be a momentous occasion for the international black music community and a catalyst for continued learning for all.
