Job Description

Elsewhere is looking for an empathetic, friendly, detail oriented individual to hire as Coat Check Captain.

 This individual will be responsible for:

 

  • Training new team members: this includes going over the coat check drop-off and pick-up process, setting up stations to operate an event, training others on how to properly set up, break down and close-out banks and tip sheet, and how to answer frequently asked customer questions in a calm and clear manner 
  • Managing weekly inventory of all coat check supplies. This entails upkeeping a bi-weekly inventory list of coat check equipment (tickets, hangers, racks, cubbies) to ensure the team is prepared properly for busy events and weekends
  •  Providing feedback on coat check team and suggestions on how to improve team, individual performance and the department as a whole

 

  • Working closely with other coat check employees during the training process as a guide and to ensure they are properly trained and equipped
  •  Handling the coat check schedule and coordinating staffing with Assistant General Manager and General Manager to ensure events are properly staffed
  •  Managing the Lost & Found program, tracking Lost & Found items, answering customer email inquiries, verifying and coordinating item pickups with customers, and keeping track of reporting and analytics on lost items & coat check performance
  •  Using excellent customer service skills to display a positive attitude when interacting with guests
  •  Accurately processing sales using Billfold payment system and handling cash
  •  Communicating in a professional manner with staff, guests and supervisors, and conveying important information to supervisors when necessary
  • Report to Managers any activities or behaviors that conflict with venue policy or code of conduct

 

You’ll be successful in this role if you..

 

  • Maintain a friendly demeanor 
  • Must be able to work at least 3 events per week, which include evenings, late nights, and weekends
  • Are able to work in high paced environments while remaining professional
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Have experience handling cash
  • Work well in a team setting and communicate with managers and security supervisors
  • Are highly organized and resourceful, with the ability to multi-task
  • Open minded to a diverse audiences - any type of discrimination is unacceptable 

Compensation

$22 per hour
