Resident Advisor is the world’s foremost platform for discovering electronic music, artists and events. Described by the NY Times as “the most influential electronic music site in the world”, every month RA reaches more than 5m people across its web, mobile and app properties.
RA is seeking a highly skilled weekend staff writer based in Europe. The candidate will be expected to perform a wide range of tasks related to the production of news, including short and long-form investigative articles. The position involves sourcing, writing and editing news. You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating press releases and content online to isolate pertinent facts and details, translating this information into stories in adherence to the RA style and editorial integrity guidelines, as well as fact-checking articles prior to publishing to determine the veracity of all sources.
The candidate will also be expected to cover any breaking stories, have journalistic nous to chase important stories and accompanying copy across social platforms to motivate readership.

Consistently available to work 2 fixed days a week (Saturday and Sunday)
We’re looking for:
Exceptional writing, editing and reporting skills
An intimate knowledge of electronic music and club culture
The ability to work well under pressure
Previous experience within an editorial team or within electronic music publications is preferred but not essential
The ability to meet hard deadlines
