Software Developer for Factory Test Systems

Location: High Wycombe offices with hybrid working available

Term: Full-term, Permanent

Salary: Negotiable + excellent benefits

Are you a full stack Python developer and AsyncIO ninja?

We’re looking for a Software Developer to support development of our test software platform for our state-of-the-art audio interfaces, MIDI controllers and synthesisers.

This role will be part of our wider Software team, but with day to day activities focused on development and maintenance of the Factory Test Platform as part of our Production Systems Development Team.

What you will do:

  • Designing and developing Python and Typescript/React software
  • Participating in code reviews and pair-programming sessions
  • Contribute to the development of the test software platform used in our factories overseas and by our Service and Engineering teams
  • Contribute to research and development of new areas for functional testing (eg robotics) and quality inspection (eg machine vision)

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Computer Science graduate, or similar, with prior experience writing Python code, or someone with relevant equivalent industry experience
  • Confident in writing robust asynchronous Python and TypeScript/React code
  • Continuous Integration (CI) and Version Control Systems (preferably Git)
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, both personal and of the wider team
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to communicate clearly with a cross functional team

It would be advantageous if you have some of the following:

  • Knowledge in database design is highly advantageous
  • Experience with microservices: PubSub, RPC patterns
  • Experience with web technology: HTML, CSS, Electron
  • Familiarity with best practices and dev-ops tools: git, Ansible, Linux
  • A good understanding of audio electronics and measurement tools and methods
  • Agile development approaches
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, Industry 4.0, etc
  • Basic electronics, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 etc
  • Background music technology
