Factory Test Developer

Location: High Wycombe with hybrid working available

Term: Full-term, Permanent

Salary: Negotiable + excellent benefits

Are you passionate about audio electronics and curious about how things work? Are you interested in how products are built and validated at scale?

We’re looking for a Factory Test Developer to design and implement test procedures to support the mass production of state-of-the-art audio interfaces, MIDI controllers and synthesisers using our test software platform.

You will be working in a people-focused, multi-functional design & engineering team, collaborating on new product development and the continuous improvement of our test approaches, production processes, systems and tools. There are opportunities to visit our factory partners abroad to provide on-site engineering support.

What you will do:

  • Get involved with new product introduction from design all the way to mass production
  • Specify test strategy and develop functional test procedures for PCBA and Final Assembly for each new product
  • Provide remote technical support to factory engineers
  • Work closely with the hardware and firmware teams to ensure we reach the right
  • level of testability if the final products
  • Design custom test fixtures to ensure manufacturing quality standards
  • Contribute to research and development of new areas for functional testing (e.g. robotics) and quality inspection (e.g. machine vision)

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • BEng/BSc degree, preferably in a related engineering subject – Electronics,
  • Mechatronics, Manufacturing Systems, etc.
  • A good understanding of audio electronics and measurement tools and methods
  • A commitment to continual improvement, both personal and of the wider team
  • Excellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to communicate clearly with a cross functional team

It would be advantageous if you have some of the following:

  • Experience with manufacturing automation, Industry 4.0, etc.
  • Competent coding skill in Python, including asynchronous Python
  • Background in audio electronics and music technology
  • Hands-on prototyping using Arduino, Teensy, Raspberry Pi or other platforms
  • Familiarity with best practices and dev-ops tools: git, Ansible, Linux...
